The CPU virtually shoots NO FT'S in this game! Even with the User shooting fouls at 100!

It was unacceptable in 2K18 it's unacceptable in 2K19 but what a lot of us don't remember is it was ALSO terrible at the beginning of 2K17 BEFORE 2K dropped an incredible patch! At 100 shooting fouls the CPU would shoot like 50 FT's a game, which gave us the ability to TWEAK IT DOWN to get realistic stats....for Sim players this is pretty gamebreaking and I personally am pretty disappointed to see 2K19 launch like this! Don't led this thread die until we get this fixed!

Do you actually have 2k19 yet? I know crazy right...

Reason I ask is the shooting fouls aren't the problem. Those are good. It's the steals and reach in fouls that are way too much.

Getting about 30-40 fouls combined for both teams in MyLeague AND MyPlayer offline modes.

I don't really know what nba are you playing, I have to literally move my guys out of the way to stop fouling the CPU, I had 30 fouls as the heat by halftime

What difficulty are you playing on? I've been playing Superstar and I cannot initiate contact at all in the paint. I'll be lucky to see two shooting fouls called against me in an entire 48 minute game.

Playing on All-Star which is what 2k actually recommends.

Judging by the initial responses I can see that reading comprehension is optional.....I'm not referring to reach ins or steals I'm talking about SHOOTING FOULS. There aren't enough of them....at all.

Exactly what I'm seeing CPU is walking through the paint I have no idea what game these guys are playing. I rarely ever see the CPU shooting FT's unless it was from being in the penalty (due to there being too many reach in fouls) but once you tune those there are entirely too little shooting fouls from the user.

I know in 18, shooting fouls on jumps shots, specifically fouls on 3pt attempts, were basically nonexistent. I dont have 19 yet, but have heard this is a problem in 19 with lack of shooting fouls on 3pt attempts.


So are you saying your not seeing any shooting fouls, at all, even inside the paint, and shots close to the basket?



I actually like that Im hearing there is a good amount of non shooting fouls being called, because thats always a issue with the lack of non shooting fouls, but seeing that Im seeing a bunch of people complain about this, Im sure the devs will cave and ruin that too. Granted it does sound like the non shooting fouls are on reach ins, and not loose ball fouls, and over the back, but Ill take realistic number of non shooting fouls, over none being called, that way you get a realistic number of fouls per game. Which Ill take over not having near enough called.

But if shooting fouls on 3pt attempts are nonexistent again this yr, thats a huge let down, and Im very disappointed if this is indeed the case

Yeah I can't even initiate contact inside on superstar. Haven't messed with other difficulties yet but so far my experience with 2K19 is a bummer. It's demoralizing when you're going out of your way to destroy someone inside the paint and they just slip right through you, ignoring the contact completely and making the basket.

Bump attack basket tendency to 100, lower mid range and close shot tendency to 10. Raise inside shot tendency to 75. Zero out the collision slider. You will see way more rim drives, thus leading to more FT'S.

Wow, I dont know what to say, thats crazy. Against my better judgement, I went ahead and bought the game,lol. May I ask what difficulty you were playing on, and where did you have your fouls sliders set at?



Not that it cant happen IRL, you do on the rare occasion see a game where a team hardly shoots any free throws, but its usually do to not attacking the basket.

Did there happen to be a lot of fast break pts with alot of the PIP coming on layups and dunks?



There is definitely a major issue if fouls arent being called when they should. I had noticed that in the Prelude, I was seeing pretty good contact in the paint, when going up for a shot, and thinking there should have been a foul called, and there wasnt. But I figured maybe with the Prelude being a older build of the game, and the devs possibly tweaking it so there wouldnt so many fouls called, so people could get a good feel for gameplay movement without having a bunch of shooting fouls called, was possibly the reason for it being this way.



We just got to keep harping on this to the devs, and maybe there is a possibility they will fix this is issue, if we continue to complain. I dont think there is many of us diehard basketball fans left that play this game, so our voice dont get heard, so I maybe if we need to become as annoying as the the casual fan base, they have that plays online, as they tend to give in to them every yr,lol. I know there is also diehard fans of the game who do play online, so by no means and I saying all who play online are casual little whiny kids by any means, as I know there are many who play online who get just as frustrated with the game being more tuned to the casual players each yr.


Im not a facebook, or twitter user, so those who do use those social media sites who are hardcore basketball fans who want a true simulation experience, need to make you voice heard to Mike Wang, and those who are involved in tuning gameplay. Im not sure what DaCzar and OG have to do with actual gameplay tuning, but those guys seem to know the game of basketball and are about realistic gameplay, so maybe making sure they know how upsetting it is with the lack of realistic fouls, and such, maybe we can actually get something fixed right, that dont ruin the gameplay.


So many improvements each yr, yet the game continues to be plagued by just a few issues every yr, that really ruins things for those who want a true sim of the NBA.


I guess I will have no one to blame but myself this yr, since I didnt spend the extra money to play it 4 days early. I heard the warnings, and yet was dumb enough to still purchase it

You have to raise pretty much all fouls sliders to 100.

I can't speak for the computer. But the user does have some say in the amount of fouls there are. I always make sure I'm aware of how many fouls my team has committed each quarter to make sure we're making the most of them. I try not to end any quarter with just 1 or 2 fouls committed, if you aren't keeping track, this can happen a lot and its a waste of fouls to give.

If you're playing against the Lakers and they post up LeBron, foul immediately (if you have fouls to give) and make them start a new possession. Don't let them take advantage of the matchup.

I've played 3 games on All-Star Difficulty. Both teams have averaged exactly 16.3 fouls per game. Still far from the standard 20 a game average in the NBA. But I think with some more slider adjustments, as well as increased pace (average shot attempts in my 3 games were 79, lower than the league average of 86). More FG Attempts should result in more FT oppurtunities, so I should be able to get that to rise.

With the current slow pace that I play at, the User team averaged 21 free throw attempts and the CPU averaged 16. That's actually very promising. It makes me feel like the responsibility is on me as a user, to foul and not allow any easy baskets.

I have been playing on pro, and with all fouls sliders at 100 except for reach ins and I have been switching back and forth between 90 and 95, as I cant quite decide exactly where I want this at just yet.


Im not seeing quite as many fouls as you have per game, but my biggest problem with fouls. is the lack of charges called, last yr, you would see a descent amount of charges, with the right edits made. In NBA2k19, Ive seen only 2 charge calls, and it was me on defense drawing the charge call, the CPU hasnt taken a charge yet, thru a total of 7 full games.


Also, just like last yr there is no shooting fouls being called on 3 pt attempt. This is ridiculous this is a issue again this, yr, but I guess I shouldnt be surprised, after all, this has been the way these guys do things over the past several yrs now.




I know these are issues due to online play and why they ignore fixing these 2 issues. Because the whining from many of the online casual fans, would be deafening if they were being called for fouling on a 3pt attempt, due to their ignorance of how defense works IRL. They would also complain if they were being called for charging fouls, because it would screw them and how they play up, as they wouldnt be able to just barrel into the paint on a drive and get away with it time after time,lol.

I know there is a lot of good online players, who actually do understand the game of basketball, we need them to speak up, since it seems us guys who play offline tend to be ignored, maybe if those true sim fans, who play online, would start complaining like the casual do, as it seems the more annoying you are, the more the devs will cater to you Maybe then we could actually get these major flaws within the gameplay fixed.


I do think its possible to get the right amount of fouls per game, with some more slider tweaking. The problem is how we got to go about getting the fouls totals per game up, isnt realistic. You can get the right fouls per game average up, just by raising the on ball steal tendency slider up. That will get the fouls totals per game up, but it wont fix the issue with the lack of shooting fouls on 3pt attempts and mid range shots, nor will it make for more charge calls.


I love how NBA2k19 plays, outside of these 2 major issues with lack of fouls. What the devs need to do is make foul sliders adjustments have more impact. I think that would solve the issue. Becasue lets be honest if you have a foul slider set to 100, you should see way too many fouls called, a fouls slider set at 100, should mean every little ticky tack foul gets called, like basically how the refs call a college game now days,LOL.


I really think if the devs would do this with the fouls sliders, our problems with fouls would be solved, and this would make both online players and offline players happy, because the onliners woulnt be ruining our experience do to them not wanting a realistic basketball sim, while us offline players, could adjust our foul sliders, to get a true simulation experience.



I beg every yr for the devs to make the foul slider adjustment to be more impactful, that way everyone is happy. And if you wanted to recreate the 90's NBA game, where you would see a ridiculous amount of fouls per game.





I havent check to see how bad sims stat are in MyLeague yet, but my guess if they ignored fixing the sim stat engine, and teams likely dont average near enough PIP. Thats dont the only sim stat issue, as 2nd chance pts and pts scored on turnovers also are not accurate to real life over the past several yrs.



Its a shame that these few issues really hold the game back, because outside of these issues, it really is a amazing game. Im just tired of seeing the same issues yr after yr go on fixed. There is no way, the devs dont know these are issues, yet they ignore fixing them. Atleast be honest if you cant fix the issue, just admit it, I have alot more respect for those who are honest, so if they said this is a game engine issue flaw we cant find a way to fix it, and if that is the case, I would understand, but when you ignore the issues, and/or lie, then I have a problem with that.
