Not enough 3pt attempts during gameplay

Anybody else noticing this? Average NBA team shots around 28 three's a game. Most games I play 3pt attempts top out in the low 20s or never even break 20. I think 2k needs to do some tuning here because the 3 point attempt slider does nothing to help these numbers.

The 3pt slider does help if you adjust the other shot sliders as well. I based mine off of real life percentage averages for the different shot attempt by distance and it's working well for me. Doing this also fixes the forced drives as well.

Lower the global close shot tendency to 5 and up the 3 pt tendency to 80+. Give it a try.

Actually, I think I've found the culprit. The Nets (who I usually ball with) are playing a 'defensive' (lol) system. Switching to pace and space literally increased the 3pt takes two fold. I went from 20 attempts in one sim to 39 in another. Yep....just something else 2k ****ed up..

Nice find, I could never actually notice a difference in the systems that coaches use in the game. But apparently there is a difference.

All I did was increase 3 point shot tendency to 72-75 and I'm getting 28 threes a game. Except for the teams that don't actually shoot that many like the Spurs. I didn't touch any other tendencies.

I am getting the exact opposite. All the CPU does is make 14 to 20 threes vs me every game.

That's never a problem. Its these systems that are given to each team that was lowering 3 or attempts. A defensive scheme yields the lowest 3pt attempts of all the systems. Discovered that today, got the number of attempts I wanted to see.

Problem solved.

I do believe there is a lack of kick out/extra pass threes. But that may because there is still a lack of up help Defense/scramble defense to create such opportunities.

I also dont think they AI is programmed to look for kick out looks vs. it mission to pass the ball into the paint.

Also there a lot of toe on the line 2s this year. Especially in the corner.

Yep. You nailed it. Its a chain. Lack of help d on drives, and no extra passes, leads to limited to non existent open 3pt opportunities.

Series has come far, but has far to go. Maybe our friend Sam Pham has the solution?

And Dirk, go to the system proficiency screen to edit schemes.

Can't wait for your sliders to make 3pt attempts higher. I just had a game where the CPU shot only 4 threes. While I on the other hand shot 26 threes.
