What genius at 2K decided removing All Star Teamup was a good idea

It's basically removed. There's no "pick up and play" hop in a game option. It's "invite 9 of your friends" or hidden into PNO that no1 uses. Pretty rare to find 9 friends who all would choose all star teamup over proam. Whatever thought process that went into deciding this format for all star teamup, was pretty stupid. A cynical reason could be that they want ppl to play pro-am instead and spend more on VC?

Player Control is still really fun. I almost like it better that you can't bring your squad in. Sucks that it's lumped in with your PNO record and I've payed the price a bit record-wise for playing it, but it is still really fun and I haven't truly even felt the urge to make a push for Tier 1 players because I'm having so much fun with the variety between Tiers 1 and 2. Kinda sucks that ASTU is gone, but this is an acceptable substitute

They get to add it later as a new feature.

I was so disappointed when they took it away!

That was the only online feature I played in 2K.

Just another reason to wait to get 2K20.

Again, do not fret! PNO Player Control is, indeed, a fine substitute!

You couldn't play with a squad at launch, but it has since been patched back into the game. There was never an official announcement (at least not from anything I ever saw), but if you create a Play with Friends locker room, you'll see an "All Star Team Up" option. At launch you were only able to play private ASTU.
