    NBA 2K20 Atmosphere Idea

I love NBA 2K19 and still play it consistently, but the atmosphere of the games leave much to be desired. There are a few relatively simple things they could do to seriously improve.

    Celebrations

The list of celebrations in NBA Live 19 is extensive, particularly in the game's feature The One mode. Check out how to access them ALL.

NBA Live 19 had them, but having the ability to do this in 2K (After dunks, made 3's, fouls, 4th QT points, etc) would be awesome.

    Lighting

An obvious issue that has been discussed by many.

    Up-loadable scoreboard.

Not sure if this is even possible on consoles, but allow users to upload scorerboard templates would be amazin.g

    things I’d like to see:

TNT broadcast package for nationally televised games in myGm. Maybe thats what you were getting at with the scoreboard but this is long overdue

    Stadium exteriors like in fifa/madden

Custom sounds and music would be nice too. How next gen goes backwards is beyond me. MLB the Show does let you do this however. So it's possible on PS4 . So the developer can do it. 2k just doesn't.

No thanks. That select a celebration stuff is immersion breaking, especially the way its done in Live (and Madden) where the player(s) just stand there frozen for a second, then warp into a celebration. Id rather it be organic the way it is. As for atmosphere itself, 2K should definitely take some cues from Live. They should check out The Show 19, too. They nailed it this year.

          UB BULLS are GOOD
Trying to drown your sorrows away after another tragic, near vomit inducing, soul crushing Bills loss? A simple solution is to hop aboard the UB Bulls bandwagon. Sitting at 6-1, the Bulls are playing the best football in WNY! Attending games are super affordable, and supporting the team can come from just cheering on the program. Fans of Buffalo should rally behind the Bulls this season. It has been a tremendous ride thus far! Plus UB has talent that will be playing on Sunday's, so rallying behind this team should be easy.

I'd like more statistical screens poppping up during game, specially if you're playing a season and want to have real time updated stats and do head to head comparisons of positions and truly give it a broadcast feel that has been sorely lacking for far too long.

Couldn't agree more with this. I would love to see more statistical screens during game. I think it'd be also cool to see optional score bugs. Obviously it'd be cool if they had NBA on TNT presentation but I think it'd be possible to have multiple presentation packages so that it doesn't always look the same every game.

One awesome thing Live had back in the early 2000s was holding up on the PS3 joystick while on defense would get the player gesturing to the crowd to get louder and the crowd would get loud AF. I'd do it all the time with Kevin Garnett and get the arena pumping. Never knew if it had any statistical benefit but it was sports atmosphere at its best.

I think it could be implemented fairly easily. Just make R3+direction be the celebration selection. Have most of the celebrations be upper body movements so that the player can move during the celebration. Pretty simple imo.

Edit: 2K is 10x better than Madden and Live in terms of movement, so EA's implementation wouldn't be the stylistic precursor for 2K's implementation.

Personally I find live’s movement a lot more fluid and responsive. I’m doing the catch and shoot drills in my player and I struggle to keep my feet in the target zone because I have such little control. I think 2k needs to improve their responsiveness and player physics. Feels magnetic and stiff, not really real basketball.

I’d like a new broadcasting crew. Kevin Harlan is so stale for me now.

Do not like Kobe and Bill Simmons coming on every other game to say their same things.

More hype in the pregame? Show the players warming up behind the commentator crew with the crowd alive and PA mix playing

                        Re: NBA 2K20 Atmosphere Idea

One day, after over 15 years of this madness, I dream that 2K will somehow figure out how to move their crowd logic and sound beyond PS2-level awareness and quality.

Granted, the buzzer-beaters are outstanding in 2K these days and I can't rave enough about them, both in terms of crowd response (audio and visual) and fidelity of the play itself. However, there are way too many immersion-breaking crowd moments throughout the rest of the game.

One of these days, when I have way more time on my hands and the necessary drive to do so (which will probably never happen), I reckon I should go through and give a play-by-play breakdown of what happens on the floor and how the crowd responds throughout an entire contest.

As it stands now, there's a solid chance my home crowd will cheer for me when I make a 3-pointer. But if I steal the ball a second later and score again, there's also a better than good chance that the crowd will randomly go silent. Not to mention, the crowd noise itself still sounds like it's stuck in 2K3. I'm amazed by all these improvements in appearance and gameplay over the years yet somehow crowd audio seems stuck in 2002.

2k should look into what Sony does with Sounds of the Show in MLB The Show. Let people capture sounds of the arena for every team and give us the ability to port it into the game via USB drive.

The bummer is that we used to have that ability on last gen. Some folks here cranked out some pretty incredible customized in-game playlists for others to download and add. Added a metric ton to the authenticity.

I like the way Live gives the options, but I agree with it being implemented somewhat poorly. It needs to be in real-time instead of having that frozen in place aspect before the celebration.
