Casual NBA Fan-Worth the Purchase

Hey guys, I'm just a casual NBA fan in a city without a team who tends to get excited around the NBA Finals each year. I love GM/Franchise modes in any game. I can sink hours into them in even Madden or NHL. I haven't bought 2k since '16. Is this game worth the $20 it's currently selling for for my purposes or would you suggest waiting until 2k20?

If so, what teams are good for a franchise mode if you want to try to build the next NBA dynasty around a young star?

Thanks. And I wish the Steel City would just get a team already!

Obviously you've got Jabari Parker, Otto Porter, and Zach LaVine. I like all 3 guys. But I don't know if any of the 3 could carry them to the finals. I'd keep them obviously.

But, given their draft position currently, wouldn't they basically need a high lottery pick to land their next star?

Again, largely clueless about much of the current NBA aside from the major stories seen on ESPN, so take that with a grain of salt

Parker was actually the player Porter got traded for. Parker & Portis are now in WAS.

CHI's plan would probably be to build around Lavine, Markennan, Carter, Jr. and pick up a young PG w/two-way ability.

Also, at $20 that's perfect to simply pick up the game and try it out. Who knows how 2K20 may look at this point. I'm thinking about skipping it if nothing dramatic occurs.

What were some of the big additions to the game over the past couple years?
