Archtypes has ruined 2k.

When you make a pure build, it practically takes no skill going against mixed builds

For example, I have a 7'1 Slashing Post Scorer that's maxed weight, yet I get bullied by glass cleaners. I don't like this, I should be able to get 99 strength and not get bullied. If I maxed weight at 275 and the Glass Cleaner is 255, he should not be bullying me.

And then the ridiculous animations Glass Cleaners get. I have them perfectly boxed out, yet even though I'm more skilled than the other player, they get a crazy animation that pushes me out the way and they easily get the ORB.


I never played parked in 2k16 and am pretty mad I missed out on it. I understand the hate against demigods, but 2k really should've went back to the 2k16 system and had more limitations.

In all honesty 2K16’s Park was great because it didn’t feel like it limited you. Yea there were 7’3 demigods but since I could do everything at 6’3 and knew how to play I was able to compete. The archetypes to me are bad for the game because it creates a meta/overpowered builds that everybody goes for. Limitations ruin diversity.

No limitations = no diversity.

Limitations literally create diversity.

I agree that things aren’t currently balanced well, but allowing everyone to do everything negates the point of picking anything specific

They should look at the NHL series and learn but it would make no money so they wont

They have like, 10 preset build with the ability to attatch 1 or 2 "specialties". It is incredibly balanced and way more fun. No more cheese. But then, who would buy their precious VC?

Limitations have led to every build being OP at some thing and once you throw in certain bases, someone with a 60 3pt can green from anywhere. Throw in a cheesy play making sharp with a glass cleaner, two locks and a stretch and it’s a cheese fest of spamming dribble moves behind screens and smashing the steal button on defense.
When we could put our attributes where we wanted them hardly anyone had the “exact” same build other than the “demigods” and most of them couldn’t really play anyway. They just seen it was the “demigod” build on YouTube but didn’t know how to use it.

So basically your solutions for a few archetypes who can do it all, is to go back to a situation where everyone could do everything?

Seems to me that just better balancing the archetypes would be a better solution.
