OP post scorer animations are still in the game...

I don't know if this has been discovered by anyone else but ehm I was messing around with the 2k20 demo today. I wanted to make a Shaq build for fun and as part of it I chose the post scorer takeover. When I got the takeover, it was to my surprise that I was still able to trigger the overpowered animations from 2k19??

I was 100% sure that these animations were removed because to me they are super overpowered and Mike Wang tweeted 20 days ago that OP animations would be gone? Like wtf..

The demo is the new 'it's an old build' excuse lol. That animation is in there because the arcade nation loves OP stuff. Take it away and they will riot on tiwtter and get it patched or addressed.

Dang, I love my beefy post player shedding dudes like theyre 100 lb women.

I also miss the pick setting brick wall animation. Those ting made me smile and laugh even when happen to me. Theyre funny. Why take them out?

Because they're overpowered ****ty animations that's why.

As for the knock down picks. I've actually laid out Curry with a pick in the practice demo. Will it be still in the full version? It should be as I felt that they weren't to overpowering but F that post scorer takeover animation.

But the jump shot landing animations that sharps/stretches get (even without takeover this year) isn’t?

People just complain because they want to use guards, shoot 3s and speed boost. If Steph or Dirk tried to guard Shaq, that’s exactly what it would look like. I’ve never got the knock down animations against a rim protector but no one will ever bring that up.

Exactly.. im surprised you actually understand this and more people should. So everyone else crying about the post animation what about the sharp badges where u can literally make a shot 80% of the time. When you make a thread like this, YOU CANNOT say its okay for this takeover to be there but its not ok for another. EVERY TAKEOVER IS OP. Thats the way the devs wanted to go towards in the game — me personally i want NONE of this takeover crap and go back to the ‘on fire’ thing they had.

Oh yeah, I remember how last year's game was completely dominated by post scorers, and the guards and 3 point shooters never got to do anything. Thank goodness they nerfed this!

Now I remember, everyone made post scorers at first because of all the hype about the new moves and animations. Then we discovered that 1) those moves are insanely slow, making them super easy to contest, so all the post scorers ended up standing in the corner shooting 62 rated corner 3 balls, 2) pure rebounders on takeover completely dominated the paint and 3) guards just want bigs to screen and board so they can chuck 3s and never pass them the ball.

It’s people who make guards and pure stretches that complained about this. No Glass or Rim Protector complained about this because all they had to was hold up the right thumb stick and every shot was smothered and that helped them get takeover. Not to mention that the takeover didn’t work against them and they could do all the same post moves that’s a post scorer could.

Gotta love those jump shot landing animations though...

They can take out those vicious Post Takeover dropsteps and spins, so long as they leave the Post Hop shot alone. You could post up damn near at the 3 point line and still green it with takeover.
