How do i call for a screen for a specific player to set the pick?

How do i call for an on ball screen from a specific player of my choice to set the pick instead of the PF/C??? I'm on ps4 btw. Sorry if I made this post in the wrong section but I've been trying to figure this out for a few days now.

I think it's L1 then R1 if you're on PS4. You'll see the icons pop up. Press and hold the icon of the player you want to set the screen and he'll do it. They switched it up for some reason this year SMH.

So you tap L1 and then hold R1?

Every time I try I just do an icon pass as I have just been tapping (or holding both) lol

Also anyone noticed that icon passes are much less responsive this year?

Press L1, then a little menu will pop-up, you then press R1 for positional playcalling and then the player icons will pop up, then you hold down the icon button of the player you want to set the screen. More annoying this year cuz last year you didn't have to press r1 after pressing l1 first.

There is definitely a bug right now. Sometimes it even freezes. When trying to select a play. It's why it's driving me crazy. I can't even offline anymore. Just went back to 19 for the time being.

I think smart play is left d-pad then R1. It could be reversed but L1 and left d-pad both have play calling options. Pretty sure smart play is on d-pad.

If on PS5 or 4 Press L1 then press and hold the players icon you want to set the screen. If you go to options then controls its in advanced offense near the bottom called icon pick control.
