Future soundtrack ideas

This soundtrack is pretty much a waste if evey other line in certain songs is going to be censored due to explict lyrics.

I suggest having different soundtrack modes for adults and children. Give the adults the full unedited versions of the songs while the kids get Kidz Bop like songs more appropriate for them. The soundtrack would stay locked until you go through some sort of age verification.

Either this or don't add songs like Meek Mill - Uptown Vibes if we won't be able to enjoy them in their entirety.

Another idea would be just getting the instrumentals for popular rap songs since most know the lyrics anyway.

What do you think?

Re: Future soundtrack ideas

First, nothing makes me feel my age more than listening to some of the tracks on NBA 2K20. Then again, I reckon I wasn't particularly a fan of a lot of the pop rap sub-genres when I was young either (sorry, Nelly, Ludacris, and Master P fans). So maybe it's just a matter of different taste rather than age (I am fond of RTJ making the cut, though).

Still, I don't think a kids/adult soundtrack is necessary. It shouldn't be that hard to find modern pop rap tracks that can function without too much censorship. In fact, perhaps because I don't know a lot of the songs, but I haven't really noticed the censorship to a significant degree.

I would love more instrumentals though. As I spend a lot of time in roster editing screens, instrumentals often seem to wear out slightly slower than their lyrical counterparts (though, as NBA 2K3's SportsCenter highlights instrumentals can attest, instrumentals aren't immune to wear and overuse).

Honestly, if 2K20 had secret classical music tracks like Gran Turismo 4, I'd consider pulling the ol' switcheroo and trading them for the current playlist.

Also, I'll wrap with a dumb question: is there a way on XBox One to play our own music through the game? Like, is there a free Spotify app on XBox that works or something of that ilk?

2K isn't giving up their E for Everyone rating to uncensor music unfortunately....

Re: Future soundtrack ideas

Censored music doesn't bother me, I just want to hear something that doesn't make me want to jab forks in my ears.

I'm a metal/rock guy but I wouldn't mind seeing more a few artists they've had in the past. I like The Black Keys, The Strokes, Stokeswood, The Moth and The Flame, Matisyahu, MGMT, etc. I just can't stand this mumble rap stuff.
