I'm not sure what you're seeing, but this is a massive improvement. Im scoring 20+ points on fastbreaks a game sometimes, and not just open court 1 on 0 dunks. Room for pull up 3s, trail dunks, 2 on 1 stuff. It's never been this organic.

The video has some examples and I think it's for a few reasons.

1. Offensive players don't lope. They sprint to their spot, whether the corner or to the rim with intent. You can see them take off and sprint as soon as the TO occurs.

Hell, in the 2nd clip you can see Tim Hardaway take off before his teammate gathers possession.

2. The D isn't psychic. They don't recognise passes before they're thrown and can't magically catch up when they shouldn't.

3. Speed matters. Slow players are slow. You can see in the first clip Justin Jackson puts metres on Brook Lopez in the open floor.

4. None of the clips above show it, but the D no longer has that brickwall defense. And momentum in the open floor really counts.

Nice. Is right also highlight how many good things are in the game.
The only things I don’t like is the speed on the big, they are running in the sand and their movement seems to be in super slo motion. I set at 50 the min speed movement (with and w/o ball) and 80 the max for more organic run

I agree with everything you said. Transition defense is much better. Hopefully, the transition defense can improve to prevent the sideline turbo dunks. Good videos as always

Re: Are you finding transition offense to be massively improved in 2K20?

I find human offense and my AI teammates to be great this year. Offense is a blast. They do run to corners to spot up, I can pull up for a three, they fill the lane, etc.

If only defense, and in particular transition D on the human side was as good. It's not. They AI still makes the weirdest choices in who to pick up in transition, often leaving the lane wide open when that should be first priority. And my experience has been with trying to switch defenders, the slight delay ends up allowing the CPU to race right by you, whether with the ball or a teammate filling the lane who now has a step or three on the defender, resulting in easy finishes.

But yes, transition offense for humans is really solid this year. I hope Defense is a focus next year, but D doesn't sell games, so I'm not holding my breath.

Honestly I think transition defense is just terrible this year

No clue what the AI is attempting to do 99% of the time

Great vids Dirk...agreed.

2K has struggled with transistion defense in the pace and space era...and I get it. It was a lot easier when guys were mostly filling lanes for layups. Now you have sharpshooters running out behind the arc. It's not an easy thing to stop IRL, much less program into a game. We are asking the AI to make multi layered decisions. Sam Pham touched on this in one of his videos....I think there have actually been some solid improvements in the transistion logic. It's just going to take time to get it where it needs to be.

3 years ago they rebuild the transition game. I think as the hardware improves it's only going to get better.

My only problem right now is passing is a little slow for my taste with certain players.

But totally agree with with everything said here.
