2k20 Most Underrated/Overrated players

With the first 2k20 ratings update out of the way, who do you think needs to be included in the second roster update? Did 2k miss any obvious players in this first one? Did they make any mistakes?

My picks -

- Danillo Gallinari keeps going down which seems ridiculous, he's way better than an 82 OVR. 85-86 at least.

- Ja Morant might be a little low at only 81.

- I've always thought Beal is worthy of a 90 OVR, his current 87 seems low. You could talk me into 88-89 I guess.

- Pascal Siakam got a boost but honestly he needs to be higher. He's contending for a 90. Dude is ballin. I mean it's cliche to say "my whole favourite team needs an upgrade" but the Raptors are defending champs, are 7-2 at this moment and were 17-5 without Kawhi last year. FVV at a 79 OVR is absurd, the man got a Finals MVP vote. OG at 77 is also a disgrace lol. I could go on

Who are some underrated or overrated players who need work on the next update? Or any accessories, badges, tendencies, etc?

Overall ratings matter as much this year as they ever have. Not much. As long as individual ratings are accurate, overall is just a number that means next to nothing

Vanvleet needs quick draw, range extender and steady shooter badges. Siakam needs ball control, and speed with ball boost and quick first step and downhill badges.
Devin Booker is shooting 54/53/93 right now. He needs a shooting boost

Beat me too it. I think the post above this is doing it the right way. Overall do nothing for us. I just want the player playing as he does in real life. I have a list of changes. I'm going to wait for the next update before banging on the wall

Cam Reddish is easily the most overrated rookie. Maybe the most overrated player in the game. He's the new Iman Shumpert.

19 badges. EXCELLENT animations. His shot gathers are A1 steak sauce. His jumpshot is that right combination of smooth, quick, and easy to green. He's very athletic and is an asset on defense.

He literally has no weaknesses. I would use him over most of the 80-89 rated SGs/SFs in the game(and I have in teamup mode ).

For me it's not so much overalls, but more the idividual stat ratings and badges.

Based on Booker's past shooting, I'd wait a bit longer for any changes. Remember how poorly Klay started out last year. Guys go through streaks. I haven't done the research but one thing to look at for Booker or other players shooting much better so far than in the past is look at their efficiency. Are they taking smarter shots? I'd be far more likely to up a shot rating if a player is taking smarter shots than just because he has had 10 or 11 hot games to start a season.

As for underrated/overrated:

Overrated: Jarret Culver. Malik Monk. Pretty much every top level player (badges cause them all to finish at way too high a percentage at the rim and hit more threes than they should)

Underrated: Gallinari for sure. I'd also suggest that SGA from the Thunder has shown enough early in the season to see some strong bump ups in rating.

and as a Long time Player of the nba 2k Series i can Tell you that Lots of Individual attributes for Lots of players are completely inaccurate.

2K has always tried to walk the line between simulating basketball players actual abilities, and having players play in accordance with the general fan perception. For example, Deandre Jordan has been a disaster on defense for several years as measured by any advanced stat, but he's still a monster in 2K. Westbrook is the same, great defensive stats and badges, but been a net negative for years.

Ben Simmons is overrated but I understand 2Ks conundrum here. I'm not sure if 2K is even properly capable of simulating a player like him, basically a giant guard who can't shoot outside the paint. He could be a 93 on a team of all shooters and no post dominant big, but on the 76ers he just screws up the spacing when Embid plays.

I look forward to another year of Wiggins being overrated especially given his high volume start to the season which creates the illusion of him being good.

Domantas Sabonis is still underrated.

Yeah. Its crazy because I know they’re going to release a MyTeam card with an updated jumper and accurate badges but leave this one as is.

For me its Malik Monk. I'm not sure what his exact rating is but the dude is just money when I play with him. Hes athletic, the jumper is nice, and I dont get murdered on defense.

I played a season with him on my expansion team and he was top 10 in the league in ppg per 36 minutes. In advance of CelticsLG's roster dropping, I just simmed a couple more seasons and even without me being the user he was dropping big numbers on offense.

Bam Adebayo, Dom Sabonis, Christian Wood to name a few. Seems 2k have a real issue of lowering declining players like DeAndre Jordan and upping young players in smaller markets.
