Triangle Offense

I'm looking to revamp my offensive game, which is rather shaky at the moment. Is this a style worth looking at? If not, what would work? I play as the Celtics.

I play MyLeague (almost exclusively) against the computer with Real Player % for what it's worth.

Triangle Offense

Worth trying IMO. Triangle was the first freelance I started using because it’s one of the few I already understood in principle (rather than having to learn all the branches purely by rote). I’ve gotten used to it and run it a lot now.

Things I like:

- Variety of shots. You can pass it in for the traditional post-up plus there are good midrange and 3pt branches (though for 3s I usually just run a play or PnR instead of running the Triangle)

- Good balance between guys staying put and moving around. I find that with most freelances there is too much movement, so you can’t run your defender into your teammate as easily. In the Triangle this works a little better, like I like to bring the ball up to the wing then give-and-go past the guy at the top of the 3pt arc so that he screens for me and gives me a decent shot

(Edit: my general point here is that the stability of the Triangle allows a firmer basis for playing totally free / out of Triangle position; you can just run around and improvise stuff since you can count on the guys being where they should be, rather than your whole team running around chaotically)

- Maybe only relevant to me, but it works well for Player Lock camera since it’s a very compact, kind of quarter-court setup. You can see most everything

I played Triangle for years. I like Freelance mode as it incorporates the Ucla cuts. There are some solid threads here on the Triangle.
Felt so disappointed with how the Triangle was run with the Knicks and after the step-down by Phil Jackson, I decided to switch to 'Swing'. Started off with freelance and later on venturing into the playbooks. Czar covered the freelance in his videos a few yrs back and it should still be relevant. And I watched a lot of Spurs games thereafter.
That was just awesome.
5OUT and 21 Delay are worth to look at for modern offense in today's Nba and 2K. u need to be good with triggerring the handoffs animations.
For Triangle, its perfect when u have a strong post player and mid range.

What's up! Back in the game for the first time since 2K16!

I'd say this year has been one of the most accurate representations of Jordan since 2k11 - with a few tweaks to his sig edits, it's phenomenal playing with Jordan. Nasty midrange game, coupled with that iconic one handed palm fake and a revamped layup/dunk package - on the money this year.

After being away for so long, I'm having an absolute blast again with NBA 2k!

I'd say this year has been one of the most accurate representations of Jordan since 2k11 - with a few tweaks to his sig edits, it's phenomenal playing with Jordan. Nasty midrange game, coupled with that iconic one handed palm fake and a revamped layup/dunk package - on the money this year.



After being away for so long, I'm having an absolute blast again with NBA 2k!

Now this prob makes me excited about running the bulls again in 20. Good 2 see u in action

No prob. Hawks 2018 seems pretty promising too but I haven’t really delved into it yet. Been busy roster editing, once I start my MyLeague Ill branch out more
