    2k18: convert mycareer to offline

With the 2k18 servers due to be shutdown soon (Jan 10, 2020), what is the best way to convert an online mycareer to offline and save my player?

Should I go into offline mode in Steam (PC), or just disable my internet connection? Then if I launch mycareer, will I be prompted to convert to offline?

I know mypark, tats, etc. all go away, but I don't care about that stuff. I think I still earn SP (instead of VC). Can I use that to upgrade my attributes?

    Thanks!

I want to know the same thing. I've written to their support to get a straight answer.

I can tell you that when they shut down the 2k17 servers, it was during my first time to play MyCareer. I tried to play and got a message that the servers couldn't be contacted -- would I like to convert to Offline play? I said no and ended up losing my MyCareer player.

The only mention of this by 2K is this incomplete statement: "You can still play offline quick games, as well as the MyGM and MyCAREER modes offline. This will let you earn SP rather than VC. If you created a MyCAREER or MyGM online save file before this, the server shutdown means the data will no longer be available for use and you’ll have to start a new game in those modes."

I think as long as your career is stored locally, which it should be by default, then I think you're good. Below is their reply:

Accordingly, any mode in NBA 2K18 that earns or uses VC will be affected, along with any other online function (such as the MyTEAM mode and online matches against other players). However, you can still play offline quick games, as well as the MyGM and MyCAREER modes offline. This will let you earn SP rather than VC.

If you created a MyCAREER or MyGM online save files before this, the server shutdown means the data will no longer be available for use and you’ll have to start a new game in those modes. So kindly download your saves from the cloud and store it locally on your console before that happens.

And please be careful not get your files deleted since we will not be able to restore it after the server gets shut downed.

I was almost ready to send a message to 2K. So thank you so much guys for being so quicker than me . And Happy New Year. Btw the server's shutdown dy is Jan 18th, 2020. I store the game locally (ps3 edition ) and I hope that I will be one of the 'day after' survivors
