Starting to have an issue with how this game doesn’t simulate actual basketball

I hope to god that pic shows so ppl can get a visual on what I’m taking about.

Let me detail the situation for you guys.

It’s a pick and roll. I’m the ball handler. The players involved are Darius Garland, Drew Bledsoe, Giannis, and Evan Mobley(A Rookie with great defense stats. From a downloaded draft class) i run the PnR good and Giannis/Bledsoe switch putting Bledsoe on my big man Mobley.

So i press Y to pass because i want the pass to be high because i want Mobley to eat Bledsoe’s lunch. But when i pass the ball is thrown in Bledsoe’s range and it’s stolen.

So in REAL basketball you know in that situation you throw that thang up HIGH to where only your man can get it. I just find it funny how these basic basketball principles escape 2k.

I ended up throwing an EASY turnover and they scored.

I just feel like this game is really bad and they need to actually study basketball

You can thank the rise of park and pro am for this. We're never going to get anything that resembles real basketball as long as my park is the most popular mode in the series.

I used that kind of pass (lob with Y) and with the right conditions it has worked.
Is Bledsoe boxed out by your player? Seems to be not from the picture.
What about the passing skill of the passer?

Is not the simplest play to complete but you can.

I just really hate how in my career when starting off, it’s so hard to give your team a lead and when u finally do they sub you out and then you’re losing by time they sub u back in .. literally hate that

I hate these type of replies:

"oop it next time"

" did you boxed him out" etc

OP makes a very solid point, SUPPORTED BY A PIC

Garland plays the pick and roll and It has worked perfectly

Then passes the ball.

Bledsoe is not even close to the Center. Yet he steals the ball without even having to jump

Has anyone see this in a real game?

I am fed up listening to ways to counter the errors of 2k mechanics. It is a simple pass to an unmarked played who is 8 inches taller than a defender 3 yards away

You're totally right. Why would anyone want to share STRATEGIES to improve the users EXPERIENCE with the game so they can get actual ENJOYMENT out of the game. Responses like that are so rude.

We should all just keep doing things that don't work and keep turning the ball over.

Man, dod you read the title of the thread?
The OP has issues that the game doesn’t simulate actual basketball
Not that he turns the ballover

Telling him an strategy to by-pass the issue does not solve the issue itself
This is a 2k mechanics issue

It is like the one that your teammate will be wide open, but we would start running towards the basket, just perfectly to be inside the area that a defender would cover in a 3 vs 2 situation
