I like how the team at NBA 2K takes next gen to heart, they really want to make a big leap, give people shock value. Madden on the other hand seems take incremental steps going into next gen, not making any huge changes from one gen to the next.

Ridiculous. Beyond stupid.

Trailer clearly means NOTHING anymore.

For next-gen, NBA 2K21 will feature drastically improved load speeds, visual fidelity on an unmatched level and an unrivaled breadth of content for basketball fans and players. Fans can expect new game features, game modes, brand partnerships, social events, in-game experiences and a brand new soundtrack that will set the record as the most definitive collection of music ever assembled in a video game.
I know that sports game marketing isn't tailored to my gaming wants any more, but nothing in this blurb moves the needle for me at all.

IF they've really built the next gen NBA 2K21 from the ground up though, I expect all aspects of gameplay to be exponentially improved. I'm not expecting a failure from this dev team like we've seen from EA teams with rebuilds in the past. We'll see.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

That is one sexy net. Not enough people are noticing the new net physics. It was beauty.

My hopefully take aways from the teaser:

. The lighting is a key focus

. the rim will now flex when it's being hung on

. foot plating seems to be improved

. Dribbling to size up to exploding off sizeups seems way
more intuitive and explosive

. Sweating has been improved

. amazing facial expression and no more dilated empty eye
gazes

. Skin textures are looking real noice with blemishes and
darken areas

. Muscle tones and movements looks super fluid and
realistic

.Screen space reflections on the court due to the better
lighting looks amazing...reminds of the effect great
lighting had on 2k14 on me when I first saw it

. the hunch over dribbling seems gone when sprinting

. The net got some next gen love

this reminds me of that.

i need to see more, but i was expecting greatly improved cloth physics, creases in the shoes as well as smoother animations. but the old teaser i mentioned was impressive, but didn't look as good the LeBron trailer 2k ultimately dropped.
I remember that teaser. None of the games lived up to its quality and hype. I hope this isn’t the same. I want the game to look like the Zion vid. We needed a new engine.

The quote means that the game will be built from the ground up for next gen consoles. Not just the ps5. Basically “new engine”.
