2k has killed 2 huge legacy issues going into next gen

1. Offensive rebounding has always been an area where any tall cpu player could dominate the o boards. For the first time ever, a non rebounding big will not kill you on the o boards. This greatly affects the gameplay, and makes playing the CPU a much more realistic endeavor.

The days of Jaren Jackson, and Myles Turner dominating the offensive glass have ended.

2. Moving jumpers. Side steps, step backs, runners, and pull up jumpers are now consistent shots with the right players. This requires the defense to have to defend more realistically. Late and weak closeouts on moving shots do not have the same monster effect they have before.

For me these 2 improvements alone, have changed this game and made it “built from the ground up”.

If they get pick n roll D to work better and the rookies get added this will be the best version of 2K I’ve ever played

are one dribble pull ups out of triple threat from the like of jordan/kobe possible now?

last gen, the defending ai would run in front of you and bump you, instead of defending the drive and then contesting.

Yeah they are. CPU seems to not be reading button inputs anymore. So they react based on what you've been doing already. Say I drive twice on the a.i. Likely the next time he's gonna back off a bit as I make a move. That's where that one dribble pull up comes in. So yes definitely possible.

Just had a great play of the big retreating on ja morant in an iso. Pull the 3 and it was a beauty.

One of my first PNO games was Rockets vs. Bucks. Last gen I would have immediately subbed out PJ Tucker for Tyson Chandler to compete...but I figured I would let things play out.

To my surprise we rebounded competently the entire game. That's when I knew something was different, lol
