OLED screen burn from score box

Is there a way to turn off the score box during a game (or at least make it appear smaller or less frequent)?

I am worried that it will lead to screen burn on my OLED TV.

I looked at the settings, but cannot see an option to turn it off. FIFA and NHL give that option.

I didn't know that was still happening. I have 3 flat panels, and never had that issue. It shouldn't be a problem, unless you have an older TV. Screen burn usually happened on plasmas.

OLEDs are definitely susceptible to screen burn. It is the biggest (and only) shortcoming of the OLED technology.

You would have to be playing some serious hours per day in actual games for there to be any risk of burn-in. Like 5 or 6 hours a day for years with the box score sitting in the corner.

My OLED burnt in from the yellow "OVR" circle in top right. I do 30 team control and spend hours in the menus during off season. Luckily LG was willing to swap it out. They told me to just make sure my HDR settings are low and try to avoid keeping it on screen for more than a few hours at a time.

My understanding is OLED is most susceptible to yellow, orange, red static images

You guys with this problem probably don't have a properly calibrated display. The only way for this to happen is extreme amounts of time displaying an image or excessively high levels on the display.

So what happens when you watch regular TV? I know stations like TNT,BRAVO, for example keep their logo on the screen at all times. Wouldn't that also create screen burn? If so, time to get rid of that OLED for something else

As others have said, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you're playing 10+ hrs/day, 7 days a week. Which, if you are, maybe screen burn-in on your OLED isn't your biggest issue....
