Pass logic

I am new to the game and am enjoying it very much, but I am having trouble with the pass logic.

A quick tap of the pass button will often send the ball to a much further player than the intended one nearer to me.

I notice there are sliders which influence the passing tendency but I am not sure I understand them

- Pass Target Direction
- Pass Target Distance
- Pass Target Openness

How can I set the passing so that a quick tap will always choose my nearest player and a hard press will opt for the farther?

Thanks

Lower distance and increase opennness.

You need to just tinker with it till you find what works for you.

When im ingame ill post what i have to give an idea on my preference.

Btw i suggest to master icon passes as you can do the same but be much more accurate and less prone to turnovers.

Thanks. I tried playing with icon passing and whilst it is a good idea in theory, I find it very confusing and actually detracting from the visual / presentation experience

Re: Pass logic

I'm mainly a directional passer. In my settings Direction is typically 70 and Openness and Distance are low.

When playing career, i can use flashy passing on the break, and bounce passes and pocket passes more. When playing online i mostly icon pass when playing with real people.

Career, typically, the AI will space the floor pretty well. Regardless if they make their shots, i can usually set up my teammates really well.

When playing online i have to icon pass more because of spacing issues.
