DO NOT PUT YOUR PS5 IN REST MODE
It will cause your PS5 to brick. I left my Ps5 in rest mode and couldnt get it to even load back up. Luckily, i restarted the system at the start screen before logging into my profile, and was able to get back in. I turned off all the power saving modes for now until they send an updatePsn: Alabamarob

Re: DO NOT PUT YOUR PS5 IN REST MODE
I’ve had 2K21 up and in rest mode. It’s been just fine on my side. Hopefully any of these issues get resolved immediately though. Scared me to death to recheck after this lol.Comment

Re: DO NOT PUT YOUR PS5 IN REST MODE
Im glad it isnt happening to you. My ps5 experience outside of 2k21 has been very bugged. I takes me 10 to 15 tries just to get in 2k.Psn: Alabamarob

Came here to say this. Rest mode with an external hard drive attached has been causing folks some issues

Re: DO NOT PUT YOUR PS5 IN REST MODE
I transferred over a few PS4 games from one then immediately (and safely) removed it. However, I tried playing Miles Morales without rebooting and a glitch in the game during a cut scene literally turned off my PS5 after about 15 minutes. Just turned it off completely. After I had to manually press the physical power button to get the PS5 to restart (then wait while it had to repair my storage), I just immediately went to the menu and rebooted the system without an external attached whatsoever just to be safe. I haven't had any issues again with any game after that and I played for a good 5 hours (Played 2k for some of that too). Granted, this could just be an issue with Miles Morales being glitchy and my theory is baseless.
I'm not even going to try Rest Mode until a patch comes out just to be safe, but I'd guess if there is no external hard drive attached it should be ok but I'm not going to test it lol. It'd be interesting to see if those with no Rest Mode issues ever had an external storage attached or if they transferred any games with one.
To OP: I'd consider detaching your external, rebooting the system after, then seeing how your PS5 performs.

Re: DO NOT PUT YOUR PS5 IN REST MODE
I have a working personal theory that even detaching one and not rebooting immediately after still causes issues, even without rest mode.

The only reason I haven't bought that game yet; I'm terrified of bricking my PS5Comment
