The roster update greatly improved the Pick and roll defense

Wow, they actually fixed the glitch where a simple setup dribble away from the screener and then escaping into the pick would dummy out the hedge defender and he would run away from the driving lane.

I was legit ready to put the game down until the issue was resolved, and they fixed it immediately. I'm impressed. PnR defense has new issues (like the hedge defender completely ignoring the dribbler after the pick as he over-focuses on the screener) but at least now that defender is in the way of the easy drive and will react if you take a shot.

Seems like rotations are a lot sharper period...anyone else noticing this?

Edit update seems to have hit the uk at midnight and actually seems to have had a good impact on pick and roll generally

Call a screen when the screen is set you move slightly to the side and hit an open 3. It works every single time. The help defense is just staying static and makes no attempt to help to stop the 3 point shot so you just get a free 3 point shot every time guaranteed. Just as bad as the previous pick n roll glitch if you ask me

On PS5 I have played two games with the new rosters and I don’t see any improvement in PNR defence. And help defence wasn’t better either. It can still be abused imo.

Personally I think the players being screened need to be able to get off screens a bit easier and drop coverage still needs to be a lot better. And on top of that it’s rare for me to see a third defender rotate to help.

This is on All-Star so maybe it’s different. I do have help Defense and awareness cranked to 100 in the sliders to try and help.

Maybe in the future 2K can add sliders for screen effectiveness or something. Not sure how to fix this ourselves.
