Has Next-Gen fixed the nickname glitch when using players from historical drafts?

On last gen there was always a glitch where if you tried to used someone from a historic draft class, they would automatically be assigned a random nickname like "ABC" that couldn't be removed. The workaround was always to copy the players DNA onto a generic "John Brown" player on one of the historic teams.

I was wondering if this is still a thing on Next Gen, or if it finally got fixed?
