Is it me or is defense down low vs other big men also terrible?

Maybe I'm bad at the game, but I have a 7' Center with 86str with gym rat and it's tough guarding against other bigs that simply run back and forth in the paint. They slide around you the entire game and which means they easily get the ball while being under the rim. I've put post lockdown and that's helped, but it's mainly the guys running back and forth.

I've said it before, but there needs to be contact to keep dudes from sliding underneath the rim. Right now I'm gonna test out offball pest to see if that helps

My Center also feels so sluggish at 7' and it's not like I maxed weight. Almost like I'm walk in mud and there's input lag, I struggle guarding bigger players than me at the perimeter. I'm 100% sure it's not my TV.

Tested my internet connectivity and it's 120-149mbps download and 26mbps upload.

This is ultimately why I'm struggling to play defense, I didn't have this problem in 2k20

What do you mean by run back and forth in the paint? You're having trouble staying between them and the rim?

What are your vitals? I'm 7'2 and can still move pretty well.
