The disrespect Lillard gets is insane - putting up multiple MVP performances and elevating all around him with his #2 & #3 man out. Should at bare minimum get HOF Clutch Shooter.

Feeling a bit out of it today so didn't start work on the update. Will probably stream some a little later tonight.

As I've discussed a bit the last two months, the primary function of OVR is to ensure rotations work properly. They need to function within the team, rather than the scope of the league.
The way 2K dumps their ratings as a clumped together wall of text is pretty ineffective as a whole. 140 players w/ movement and yet no meaningful information is discussed. It's like patch notes w/o notes.

He has Gold Clutch Shooter. That is hardly "disrespect".
The players w/ HOF Clutch Shooter are all Classics: Jerry West, Michael Jordan (only one version), Larry Bird, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Robert Horry.
Lillard has only cracked 40 points 3x this year (by comparison, he averaged 38 in the bubble). I'm not sure what from his statistical profile suggests he needs a higher rating.
Dame's biggest drawback is that he doesn't impact the game defensively in a meaningful way. This isn't unique to Point Guards (a very small handful ever have an elite level impact), but it does hard-cap most of their OVR ratings as a result. The Blazers are 29th defensively, following up the 28th they ranked last season. That inevitably reflects in Dame's ratings.

I'm not sure why you seem to think 2K should disregard stats.
Zach LaVine (22.7 PER)
29-5-6 in 36 MPG (52-44-85 shooting) 65 TS% (17th) on 31 USG%
25 AST% on 1.34 ATR
Donovan Mitchell (18.9 PER)
24-4-5 in 34 MPG (43-39-83 shooting)
56 TS% on 31 USG%
25 AST% on 1.73 ATR
Devin Booker (17.2 PER)
24-4-4 in 35 MPG (49-35-83 shooting)
59 TS% on 31 USG%
21 AST% on 1.24 ATR
LaVine has had the best year of the three and there isn't much to debate there.
For context, 65 TS% has him literally sandwiched between Kevin Durant & James Harden among high-usage scorers. There are few guards in history who have ever shot the ball as well as LaVine is right now.
Porzingis still a 86, ok... but without the deep range badge yet, when he always shoot the 3 from very long distance...
Porzingis is 2-5 from 30 feet this year (now 13-31 in his career).
While I would agree that he needs the badge, his actual frequency is far less than your post would indicate. "Always" =/= "Sometimes"
The disrespect of this game to some players and the love for others is disgusting.
Basketball is much more than stats and its about winning first and foremost... Come on now 2k, you can do it better...

It's also more than just about opinions.
Beautifully said. Always look forward to your analysis when a new roster update drops

Can anybody explain to me who designed this official "courtside report" page and why it looks so bad? Who thinks it's cool to use font size 70+ for the header and then an image that is bigger than my 4k monitor? Looks really horrible.

I am sorry but I will never agree with those who base their analysis in stats and advanced stats, I can respect it, but to me Baskelball is much more than that and there are still way too many things impossible to register or measure in a "number"... I am not a boxscore addict, I love basketball as a game.
And by the way It's way easier to produce better numbers in a bad team than doing it in a team that is winning and playing more coral...
Lavine is not a better player than Mitchell or Booker... and I am not necessarily questioning Zach's 88, that could be well deserved... I am questioning the 87 of Donovan or Devin... to me those guys are already elite and should be 90's already (if we are going to put a number in the level of a player)... And now their teams are competing well in the way harder Western Conference... that should count either... but no, 2k only pay attention to individual stats it seems and again, they will never tell you the whole story.
What about Jerami Grant? How can be now down to 83 with the season he is playing? It makes no sense...
Whiteside 81+ just becuase he performed well in a couple of games lately when his season was been atrocious so far... however the NBA player of the week keep the same... no consistency... even no objectivity from my perspective...

Cheers! ;-)
Naw...this is a videogame. These players are a replication of their stats. Heart, team chemistry, ability to learn, etc can't be measured, but that doesn't matter because the gamer is the "human" element. There's so much stuff that can be measured these days, that you can come pretty damn close to recreating the player in digital form.

That's well and good, but a number of the attributes are tied to statistical formulas. Ditto for most of the badges.
Editing 500 players without statistics is impossible.
And by the way It's way easier to produce better numbers in a bad team than doing it in a team that is winning and playing more coral...
Typically, players who put up "numbers" on bad teams are doing so at the expense of their efficiency. That isn't the case here w/ LaVine. In past years yes, but not this year.
I am questioning the 87 of Donovan or Devin... to me those guys are already elite and should be 90's already
Their production suggests otherwise. Both are having subpar seasons and neither is likely to make the All-Star team this year (I wouldn't call them elite anymore than I would LaVine).
2k only pay attention to individual stats it seems and again, they will never tell you the whole story.
You're displeased w/ their OVR, but no specific attributes/badges have been referenced. Mostly, it seems like you want them to disregard their available information, but aren't providing any alternate criteria for them to work with.
In the case of Mitchell/Booker, neither is the best player on their team. Both play with multiple players that are better than whoever we consider the 2nd best player on LaVine's team. Team record isn't really a factor when discussing a player's 3pt rating, rebound rating, or whatever else is being quantified.
What about Jerami Grant? How can be now down to 83 with the season he is playing? It makes no sense...
Jerami Grant is shooting 42% over the last two weeks. He's also down to only 3.6 RPG in 38 MPG in February. He dropped 43 in his last game, but also had 15, 15, and 9 in the prior three (27 FG%) Gotta take the bad with the good.
