NBA 2K21 All-Star Weekend Roster Update (3/5/21)

All-Star teams were updated with today's roster update.

https://twitter.com/Real2KInsider/st...00841088958464

All rating changes were logged from current-gen (PS4). Approximately 138 players w/ OVR changes, with 22 changing by 2 points or more ("Big Movers")

As with all 2K Overall Rating updates, it’s important to recognize that +1/-1s are mostly statistical fluctuation and can be traced to an increase/decrease in a player’s performance over the last two weeks. As an example, Tristan Thompson is on his 6th OVR change of the season (he has been a +1/-1 in every single roster update).

Players with +/-2 or greater, or any badge changes, those are the true “movers” in an update. (There appear to be zero badge edits in this update).

Being mindful of where a player started and where they are today gives additional clarity to the otherwise mundane wall of text that is the “Official” 2K rating dump For example, a +1 for Tyrese Haliburton in this update tells us only about his last two weeks and very little about his season’s journey - he is +9 since the season began and exceeding expectations throughout the year. Roster updates should be storytelling through numbers, rather than soulless digits on a page.

Archetype changes were provided to give fans additional context to which attributes were changed. Most commonly, this will relate to a player’s 3pt rating going above or below 80 (2K primarily focuses on shooting ratings in their bi-weekly updates). It is likewise important to note that player attributes change for ALL players even when their OVR doesn’t. Nerlens Noel for example went from “Finisher” to “Rim Protector” in this update, but won’t be listed because his OVR rating did not change.

Re: NBA 2K21 All-Star Weekend Roster Update (3/5/21)

For PNO did they update the raptors starting 5 because of the covid problems ?

Did they inactivate VanVleet, OG etc etc or is it still just Siakam?

Or is everyone back ?

Don’t understand why Jimmy went down two points when he’s been absolutely killing it, not home to look at what dropped for him.

Kyrie Irving in this roster cycle (2/14 to 3/4):
26-5-6 (35 mpg)
47-41-68 shooting

The Previous Cycle (1/31 to 2/13):
28-4-6 (36 mpg)
52-38-97 shooting

TLDR: He shot worse.

Siakam is currently the only deactivated player.

Excellent observation. Butler's OVR is likely dropping because he didn't make the All-Star team, rather than anything related to his on-court play.

Butler this cycle (2/15 - 3/4):
23-8-9 (35 mpg)
49-36-90 shooting

Previous cycle (1/31 - 2/13)
21-9-8 (35 mpg)
43-27-81 shooting

Butler's non-selection is among the league's biggest snubs (likely bc vote was split between he and Bam). It will look awful by season's end, as Butler is actually in the middle of a career season on the court (he's missed 14 games due to Covid/Injury).
