Even if the post game was excellent, you would have to get the offensive rebound and leave the paint and start to post because no one will dump the ball to the post.

Almost every game I play in the rec with my big is against 6'8" Barbeque Chicken and every other game I will get a late pass and the defense will get between me and the rim which gives me the opportunity to post up. If this doesnt happen I will never get the ball in the post. Even though you can plainly see the size advantage.

Three on ONE fastbreaks with me at the line headed to the rim and a shooter in the corner with the lone defender guarding the ball coming across half court will almost always go to the corner three. BIGS GET NO LOVE IN NBA2K, unless they're at the arc and hit a green three before doing a backflip and a dance to alert the rest of team to his their shooting ability.

I need a 6'11" Playmaking Slasher with Rebounding and Defense. I'll rebound and make the correct choices for the team but I'm not looking f̶o̶r̶ ̶a̶n̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶p̶a̶r̶t̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶ ̶j̶o̶b̶ ̶ to make another build this year.
The 1st sentence of your post is why I gave up on post scoring after being really really good at it in earlier 2ks. In 2k18 I could dominate with my moves. In this 2k If I made a post scorer id basically be hurting my team and selfish. With how insane intimidator is its useless to try and be a post guy. My guy now is a defender and when I see a post build my eyes light up. 2k21 basically made one move effective. The drop step. If you arent drop stepping then i guaruntee you you arent scoring against anyone good. ANd im a 99 defender so even if you spam drop step im stopping you. Theres no skill to it anymore

True the only guys i struggle with are just guys who stand there with their hands up.

At the point i just look silly and have to pass lol.

Besides post fades my biggest issue has always been people jumping and being awarded instead of punished.

You can get blocked doing a pumpfake and someone landing on you….

Not to mention someone can jump, land and still contest a shot on the other side of the rim….

We haven't had general running hook animations since 2K13. They only added Ben Simmons running hook and made it specific to him.

Here are the post animations we need IMO:

- Running hooks
- Half spin fadeaway shots (MJ and KG signature move)
- Smoother leaning fades with no dribble out of triple threat (Dirk/KD)
- Explosive post drives into a jump hook (Shaq)

Please please please add at least 2 of these animations this year.

True. Makes me miss the days where a double team was a literal animation, where passing out of the double was it’s own animation, which held the defender in place while you passed. So defenders had to really think about if they wanted to double, because you couldn’t just wander vaguely close to a post player and have it treated like a legitimate double team, or fish for bump steals on a post spin. You were gonna have to commit all the way to doubling, and if that post player was at all aware of the spacing on his team, he could drop proper dimes all day

They also really need to differentiate the shot contest system for post play and perimeter play. You shouldn’t need to Hakeem on David Robinson every defender just for the game to think you got a good look on your post shot. The very act of posting up presupposes contact with a defender, and it’s the same with almost every shot and move from the post. A defenders presence should have less impact on the success rates of post shots since avoiding the defender is practically built into the moves.

I’m not saying it shouldn’t have any impact on post shots of course, but if you commit to your post game by investing in the HOF badges and 90+ ratings, you absolutely should not be able to hold me just because you got HOF intimidator and can stand there with your hands up. Hooks and fades should score right over you (assuming good shot timing of course) unless you’re jumping to hard contest me.

When I watch some of the great post players, defenders were generally jumping to contest their shots because they knew they couldn’t rely on them to miss off of simple hands up defense. Again I’m not saying it should be that way for everyone by default. But for those of us that commit to creating post players, that should be the threat that we represent.

As someone mentioned above, you shouldn’t feel like it’s selfish of you to create a post player because you KNOW that your build is not optimal due to the current big man meta and the general state of post play

The funny thing is, is that they have a few defensive badges in the game to specifically counter post moves but no one ever uses them because all you need is HOF intimidator to stop anything that is put up in the post

I'd like them to at least add the correct defender mo-capped animations if they won't give defenders' control to stop blow bys thus eliminating the "sliiide".
Wait.... Do they mo-cap defenders?

Post game was great in 2k14-2k18 games more or less. But badges and takeovers killed the depth of post scoring completely. Now you either destroy opponent with spin or drop step with superior badges or cant do anything at all.

Some clips I've posted on reddit some time ago from 2k16. These mechanics are not in the game anymore sadly.
