2k19 PS5

I didn't want to believe it myself, but 2k19 on the PS5 is a thing of beauty. It looks great and plays fantastic. I don't have a updated roster yet but man the transitional D and the defense on the PnR is the way it's supposed to be. Man I miss this.

The CPU is challenging and aggressive and they call appropriate fouls!!The CPU calls timeouts on big runs and the pace of the game is pretty good..

If you still need a solid BBall fix and still have 2k19 ps4 disc install it on the PS5
and game on!

I run 2k20 on the PS5. It's amazing. Definitely not trading up unless this years game offers something worth while.

Playing right now and I can’t believe it. The game feels really good compared to 2K21. Not sure if it’s because I haven’t played in so long, but this is really fun. I feel more free when doing dribble moves and it feels organic. The dunks are also really good as far as hand to rim interaction. Fast breaks are the best that I can remember. The CPU actually rotates from the weak side and leaves the corner open. Defenders come over and get organic blocks. It doesn’t feel canned. I really took this game for granted when it came out.

How do the graphics match up when you’re accustomed to 21 next gen?

I guess graphics were never the issue with these games. It’s gameplay.

Actually the graphics are pretty good on the PS5...Gameplay with some tweaking with sliders is a very good BBall game!..I'm really enjoying it. The only thing I need is updated roster, but other than that i'm good..

No need for nostalgia glasses when playing 2k16. Probably the most sim basketball gameplay of all time, right next to 2k11 of course.


Must be nice going back to a game with proper defensive help, no exaggerated speed dribble glitches, and just overall more focus on user defense that isn't embarrassing to watch.


I totally get Lebron, KD, Kobe, Harden, etc. were all terrific players in their prime, but 2k21 next gen WAY over exaggerates their dominance to the point where it forces defense to play like a bad high school JV team that doesn't know fundamental defensive schemes or rotations. Meanwhile, they get bailed with speed boosts, lightning quick reflexes with the ball, and just being rewarded for turboing to the rim all the time.

Yep the stars are way overly exaggerated. The badges or quirks(whatever it’s called in 2k) ruin the game. So do the movement sliders. I get wanting to make guards faster than bigs but it’s overly done.

2k16 is hands down one of the best NBA games I've ever played. I may even rebuy it. It was a thing of beauty.

All 2k need to do is remaster 2k16 defense with not just current but with classics teams, get rid of the curry slide and everything else that you guys mentioned. Then my boycott will be lifted. I had a lot of fun playing 16. Played 3 franchise seasons in that game.

When you produce a simulation kind of basketball game like 16 was, your game will be talked about for years to come. When you produce a archaic kind of basketball game, your game is lackluster. Hoping 2k developers are still reading these threads on here.

I hear that 2K had perfect body types in 2K16 now. Back then there was a huge thread about too many guys looking like body builders.

I caped for 2K16 so hard around here...but at the time you'd think it was the worst game ever. It's a frustrating cycle.

I feel like, gameplay-wise, 16 was better, but graphics-wise, they revamped their graphics and body types in 18 since they got so much backlash in 17. (And I never liked the sloped shoulders in 16-17)
Remember that Curry and KD screenshot?

Yeah, they looked so good. Now, I don't know what has happened ever since, all I know is that KD in 21 doesn't look as good. (Or maybe it was the angle of the screenshot?)

In other words 2k can't win for losing lol but I think that was just constructive criticism in regard to the body types imo. Not everyone should look like body builders. The gameplay was awesome to me and that's what I look for than shiny graphics. We took 16 for granted when these other 2k games arrived.
