Re: Small 2K22 nugget from Eric Boenish

I hope we get more control over dunks this year like we had years ago.

RT + Up= Normal/Signature dunk

RT + Left= Flashy dunk

RT + Right= Power dunk

RT + Down= Reverse dunk

Then 2k11 came and changed it up a bit.

RT + up= Normal/signature/flashy/power dunk

RT + left= Hop step dunk

RT + right= Rim hang dunk

RT + down= Reverse/spin dunk

I'm not a fan of todays dunk controls....not enough variety with the current setup...

EDIT: If I recall we had to spin the stick for a 360 dunk lol see we had some more variety years ago.

The thing is, though, it's important to be able to go up with the correct hand on a drive, so left/right corresponding to your shooter's hand on dunks and layups is imperative IMO.

As far as the different gathers, you can just use the buttons to do the gather and continue holding turbo, which will allow you to dunk afterwards if there's little enough traffic.

It's just an issue of only having so many buttons on the controller, which does suck sometimes, this being one of them.

Re: Small 2K22 nugget from Eric Boenish

I hated last year's shot stick mix with dribble moves was corny and didn't make sense.

I been shooting with the shot stick for years but in 21 I had to stick with the square button because I kept doing dribble moves when I'm trying to shoot with shot stick smh

2k should also add a standing Dunk button but position and fatigue should play a big role

You still have control over dunks. Up is two hands, left is left hand, right is right hand, down is flashy

Really? Seems convoluted. The controls have been fine for years up until 2K21. I'd rather see them refine the gameplay itself, than worry about a new control scheme.

What with The kooky shot aiming, and now the possible separation of shot and dunk buttons, I think I may just say goodbye to the future games now, and stick with 2k20. Hell, may even head back to the mount Rushmore with 2k16.

I mean, it is possible to do both. And it's not a whole new control scheme as much as just a singular change, maybe with another change to replace an old input.

This more controls crap is a turnoff to me. I prefer less. And it makes it impossible to play with a friend who doesn’t have 2K. The learning curve is ridiculous for a basketball game.
