Have they already toned down the defense?

In recent days, the game and especially the defense feels completely different than at release. Now you can drive to the paint much much more and contests are also much lighter than it was back when the game was released.
Has 2k already given in and made the game easier? I want the gameplay like it was when it was released. Maybe it was a little bit overpowered in regards to defense, but it was fun, because finally it felt you had to work for your points and also the scores have not benn 100+ for both teams in 40 minutes all the time.

I think we're just getting better at the game. Finding what works, finding angles.

The left stick is brutal this year.

It's equally likely that you've just gotten better at 2k22 and have a better understanding of how to attack, sharper skills etc. I know it's particularly easy to get into that conspiratorial mindset in 2k because they don't divulge everything in their patches and there's so many sliders to obsess over, but it's easier and healthier to assume you're just better at the game you're constantly playing.

I still can’t shoot over 40 percent from the field in a game. So the defense is definitely not easier on me.

After a roster update like 5 days ago the game changed a lot. Before that I had lateral quickness at 40 and on ball d at 40 other wise big guys could keep small guys from getting past them way to much and just over all to much brick wall d. After that update 47-48 played like 40 before so I guess defense got toned down some but I am having to low of shooting % averaging about 41% shooting.

You mean setting pick and rolls on your own freely, the CPU's defense doesn't do as well, versus you using pick and rolls off a set play, series, or freelance?

Yes I agree and notice the same, that's why if user can abuse cpu's poor defensive rotation decision if user just keeps calling manual pnr...

That’s why going back to 17 I don’t use manual PnR. I use auto playcalling and just run whatever is called. I use auto playcalling too because it takes too long to call a play that half your shot clock is gone by the time you do it. Now if I see an obvious mismatch I break from the play.

This thread shows why it's so difficult for VC to tune the game. OP is mad about defense being tuned down, while myself, who hadn't played the game in at least 10 days so I definitely haven't been getting better, is ecstatic turn on the game this morning and play a game that has been tweaked to be much, much more fun for me. What are you gonna do.

The game is perfect. If you have a problem, adjust the sliders. That’s why we have sliders lol

I know I'm in the minority, being on current gen (XBox One), but I'd welcome a certain sort of lightening up on the defensive side of the ball.

As of a week ago, I can win by spamming certain tricks against the computer repeatedly (manual pick-and-roll) but trying to take advantage of a mismatch via isolation seemed concerningly difficult. It was almost as if the on-ball defender was immune to nearly any and all feints that'd generally result in even a vague lateral weight shift in real life.

I imagine current gen won't be getting many updates but it'd be nice to see some tweaks there.

Playing online in our league. only thing we adjust are stamina sliders. rest is "deal with it".
