“Gamefile has been corrupted, and will be overwritten”

This is a first for me…I loaded up my game (Xbox series S) …a quick start to where I left off in MyNBA. I got one of those annoying “update requiring a restart” box on the bottom, so I backed out of MyNBA to the main menu and it starts to update….

I get a message that my gamefiles have been corrupted and will be overwritten. I lost all my settings, custom rosters, and most importantly myNBA file which had over 30 games played . I fear that I’ve lost everything for good…
It’s pretty much like I opened the game for the very first time.

Does anyone know why or what happened here ? How can I prevent this from happening again? And is there anyway for me to get any of my files back?

30 games is not that bad, but it is very annoying. It would’ve been bad had i played most of my 82 game season or more though.
My gaming time is very limited with a wife and 5 kids lol…wife is out for the night kids are away or in bed…and of course this happens to me. Smh

It is happening to me also.. I start a season on my series x and then try to continue it on my series s and corrupt file.. it's annoying

Guys when you see this, just exit to dashboard and when you go back in, you will be good. I started my game and it said my file was corrupted. I panic because i did so many customs sneakers but i exited to dashboard and loaded it back up and everything was good to go.

Update: I was able to retrieve my MyNBA save file. I just went in to the “unknown” file (formally where my MyNBA file resided) and it opened into where I left off. So maybe my file was actually never deleted…it was just renamed to “unknown”. Either way, when I exited out of myNBA, and went to load it back up, the file was there as it was before like none of this ever happened.

This happened to me too. MyNBA kept crashing at halftime show as well. That’s after the recent patch, which corrupted my previous MyNBA file that I played 30 games in.

I decided to delete then reinstall the entire game and reset my Xbox. Gonna give it another go. Something very wrong with this game after the patch.
