Madden includes digital sales, 2K is without.

Should make a big difference.

+1. I'd go so far as to say that digital sales probably make up a very strong majority of 2K sales. It's easier, the game's player base (it seems to me) is far more online-centric (so people who need a physical copy because their internet stinks are probably not buying the game at all), and you know you're gonna be downloading a million patches anyway over the lifetime of the game, so you may as well just start off with a download.

I'm actually stunned that 2K is #3 without digital sales. That's a huge handicap and I would've guessed it'd knock them down to like #9, 10, or 11. I have to think that WITH digital sales they're very comfortably at #1.

I think sports games in general make sense to be purchased digitally given the release cycle. Any physical copy is destined to become a paperweight in 365 days.

All sales numbers have been a lie since digital games entered the mix. They're 100% in house and no company has released accurate numbers.

They are used to strengthen PR talking points.
