Best 2k and why ?

I'm not finding NBA 2k22 fun at the moment. I feel like I'm not in control and the animations take over too much.

I'm looking for an NBA game with reasonable graphics a solid franchise that is fun to play and feels like I'm controlling the player and not the game controlling me if that makes sense.

Any ideas ?

within the last 5-6 years. ID say 2k16, 2k17, 2k19.
If you care about graphics stick with 19, then 17.
17 probably resembles today's NBA the most

2k11 for nostalgia and more accurate legends.

Overall GOAT? 2K16. Game had it all. Offense was solid. Defense was good. Over 120 signature dribbles to choose from. Less emphasis on all this arcade 'green' shooting stuff. Devs seemed to put more care and love into offline modes instead of shunning them for VC cash cow stuff. Holds up well graphically, too.

If I had to pick a specific one it'd be 2k11. However, I tend to break NBA2K up into eras. 2k11-2k14 was my favorite era, I played each of those to death in college. I've played almost every one of them quite a bit.

2k11 easily for me. It was just the most complete overall. From graphics (great looking game for it’s time) , to gameplay, to game modes, to replay value. It really didn’t have any flaws.

But believe it or not, 2k22 has been my favorite 2k ever since..

By going full blown “trendy” , catering to YouTubers, and centering the game around the online stuff like MyCareer, Park, MyTeam, and Virtual Currency….2k Prior to like 2k13 was very sim based and offline friendly. You could tell developers really cared about the core aspect of the game. Which is the NBA. MyLeague (once known as Association mode) was their top priority and classic teams/players were given much more love

Good answer. I'm no ***** by any means, but the lackluster online mode has brought the game down a few levels for sure.

Lol. 2K22 was near perfection out of the box. Whatever improvements they make will again be used as selling points then again get patched out.

That said, with lots of slider and tendency tweaks. 2K22 is near perfect to me.

YouTube & DLC have destroyed video games since the 360/ps3 days.

With each console generation, it feels like we get less & less of a complete product out of the box, only for the devs to "update" the game via patches or dlc. That's not a 2k problem, it goes for the entire video game industry too.

2k11 was easily my vote for most impactful game, but it inadvertently allowed 2k to get complacent since it was the death blow to EA'S NBA Live.

Forgot but 13 or 14 cuz I was straight murdering people. Those games seemed like they didn't stop you from doing what you want to do and obviously could do cuz "2k." As a result, you got people getting 21-0d more than before. That was the last year I really played 2s cuz it was just like ok now this is getting wack.



The thing is that in SOME ways they are getting back to the right stuff, but their 'make a mistake' thing is pretty annoying in serious competition. You can be in a tense rec game and the game decides to provide some comic relief by having one of the players rocket it off someone's head instead of making a simple pass. That is the only thing I hate about 2k. That's why people flop. I mean, it's just like this gammm. People who celebrate those plays are so tryhard. Like you get that cheese snatchblock animation... it looks dominating but you didn't do anything. I get that all the time. It's wack. It's so much better to actually block someone. Just like it feels great to raw rip people. 2k is almost there to on raw ripping people v dribbling. They got good reaching fouls now. I give up shots playing D on 2k because I am just trying to rip them. If you can protect it and score gg. It's way more dynamic than 2k was before if you want to do whatever, it can be OP. You can have a big big w/ mouse and he will just slaughter everyone inside and shoot over people. You can have a slasher where if you get a step you get a crazy but fair enough animation. They weren't in the spot is what it comes down to, but I mean there is a level of that for almost everyone. You don't need as high of shooting on CG if you have boosts esp I'd say 65 is a 3 point threat with a couple badges. Especially corners. STOP LEAVING THE CORNERS TO HELP INSIDE AGHH.

Game play with or without sliders I'd say 17 for me ,with 14 as a contender.
Remember how blown away I was going from NBA 2k13 Xbox 360 to NBA 2k14 on Xbox one.
Looks ,animations gameplay (the fact that you could chose sim sliders on Mycareer)
I think 17 really feels solid gameplay wise , shout-out to 16 as well

Still play those games btw

why is gameplay of 2k17 better than 2k16?
