I've used your rosters before Rashidi. The problem I have is that you are already adjusting players ratings when in reality there's no reason for this yet. I mean the preseason is just that.

A lot of players only see minimal playing time including starters & to decide on ratings adjustment for preseason games doesn't seem the right way to go.

You could possibly make ratings changes for some of the rookies or players trying to show they deserve to make teams. However, for veterans or proven players I think it's just too early to make such rating changes.

I'm not trying to bash your work Rashidi. So, don't think that way please. I'm not that way & I appreciate all you guys efforts on these rosters. I'm just trying to make a point but hey you do great work anyhow.

BTW, you wasn't clear about the players missing(Cunningham,Cook,& Beaubois). Did you add them as CAPS or did you just leave them out of this roster? Thanks again & don't take me the wrong way.

Except 2K gets the same players wrong every year. This is a company that let Tony Battie sit with a 50 close rating for 7 years.

EDIT: For further proof, just about every player has their 2k9 FT rating. It doesn't get any lazier than that.

Fortunately, I haven't made any adjustments based on preseason games.

I left them out because when 2K finally gets around to adding them it would leave a duplicate player in the file (CAPs and Roster files are seperate entities this year).

OK! I see now that you are basing this off of unfair ratings from 2K Sports. That's a better understanding then. Thanks!

Not unless someone provides a spreadsheet to use them. I'm sure there's others that are working on rosters for the PS3 that will be good too. Thanks!

                      Rashidi,
glad to have u back bro doin' what u do.
                      1) when u changed primary positions, did their ratings change automatically? (it did when i switched it so i cancelled the edit cause i didn't know every category that changed).
                      2) ^^^did it also mess up rotations? (not that they were perfect anyway)
                      Thanks.

Overall ratings are calculated differently for each position. So when you change a player's position, their overall may increase or decrease.

Example: Eddie House is a terrible ball handler and passer so he gets a low rating at PG. But if you switch his position to SG his overall rating jumps 5 points.

If anything it helps rotations because the CPU makes it's subs based on positions. At defaults Boston will sub in Ray Allen at PG instead of House because it's Ray's 2nd position and his rating is much higher than House's.

In the demo (and I'm sure this is true in the console game) Boston subbed in the following lineup

                        PG: Ray Allen
                        SG: Paul Pierce
                        SF: Tony Allen

Pierce is a SF and Tony is a SG yet the CPU subbed them in at their weaker positions (Tony subbed in for Pierce at SF first, and then Pierce subbed in for Rondo sliding Ray to PG w/ Pierce taking Tony's vacated spot at SG). The reason this is possible is because Pierce's 2nd position is listed as SG when in reality it should be PF. He has barely played SG the last 3 years. Had he not been listed as a SG, Tony would have slid over to his natural position when Pierce re-entered.

Hi Rashidi ... I have always downloaded your roster but that was when I had a 360, now I have a PS3 (I had enough with the RROD) and I would really appreciate your help to see if any of your followers and my ex 360 friends could help us out posting a spreadsheet of your roster updates ...

As it is an enourmous job to do it, it could be done in parts, like 1 user for each team or something like that ... I may try to do the excell spreadsheet base file but with all the pending tasks of my job would take more than a prudent time ...

Either way, I will try to keep track of your fabulous work and annalisys ... keep them going ...
