The NBA 2K12 Simulation 2012 Draft Class

    File Updated on December 22
Ok The Updated Draft Class is on 2k Share. Many improvements including Potential Edits.

    File Name: Official 2012 Draft
    Gamertag: vtcrb

File Name: 2012 Sim Roster Project
    Gamertag: vtcrb

Ok guys it is FINALLY finished. The height and weights are up to date, not by the Draft Sites, but by actual College Home Page Bios. Their are 64 Players with Ratings done in Attributes, Abilities, Tendencies, and also MAJOR Appearance Edits done by Tomba. This class is designed to go with our roster. I am going to list below the Prospects that are included in the Draft Class. Any player that is NOT edited will have "DONT" as their 1st name and will have a 25 Overall rating. I made this class so that their will be enough Prospects for 1st and 2nd Round Picks, plus 4 Free Agents. Hope you guys enjoy. I want to especially Thank Tomba. Without him this Draft Class would not have been anywhere close to as good as it is.

By any chance will you be doing any further draft classes? I realize this is a huge ordeal youve taken on, but considering how amazing these play, you might look into the class of '13?

It would really add to the association, and your quite a monster at making these players play like themselves.

Thank you for this beast of a class!

Yes there are plans for Future Draft Classes. Just going to take a break until at least the 1st of the Year. That way there is time for us to enjoy the roster and relax. There was a TON of work and time put into the Roster and Draft Class and honestly we are burnt out right now. At least I know I am. I am glad you are enjoying the Draft Class.

Re: The NBA 2K12 Simulation 2012 Draft Class

Awesome! I feel like there are some real gems in the next years draft, which is not as highly regarded as this years awesome class. May I ask how you decide potential? Im only in my second season of my association so I havent really seen who busts and who doesnt. How do you make the decisions on who does? When I was editing classes in 2k11 I could never decide whether to put Anthony Davis/Perry Jones at like 88 potential due to their massive athleticism, length, height, or to bust them at like 60 potential.

                Thanks again!

Honestly the Potential you just have to go by your gut feeling as to who you think has the Potential to keep getting better. I watch a TON of College Basketball so I try to base it off of the games I get to see, plus looking at some footage from scouting sites.

I agree there are a Ton of Elite Prospects in the 2012 Class, but I think Sullinger may be one of the few who is Physically ready for the rigors of the NBA.

Yeah, I see sullinger like a Zach Randolph without the off the court problems.

Could you by any chance post some stats from these prospects after like 7 years? I just wanna get a feel for how many in each draft your busting and such

Re: The NBA 2K12 Simulation 2012 Draft Class

I went through the draft class today, and even simulated a few years using this class to see where the players landed.

MOST of the players look great and some players like Anthony Davis, Terrance Jones and Perry Jones are right on point. However, I think a couple key players could use some tweaking. Andre Drummond comes to mind right away...something just seems off.

After running through a couple drafts, the draft order was decent. I had Drummond going anywhere from 1-4, and Barnes cracked the top 3 every time. My main gripe is that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist goes too high (anywhere from 1-4) and Anthony Davis, who is arguably the best player in college right now, goes 8-10 instead of the 1-5 range where he belongs. Another player who gets drafted late-lotto who will be a top 10 pick for sure is Jeremy Lamb.

I have only played a couple 5-on-5 games with these players, but not enough to judge their attributes yet. I don't plan on starting an actual season with this draft class until the NBA free agency dust settles.

But all-in-all, this is a solid draft class and I appreciate all the effort that has gone into it. Thanks for taking the time guys!

I have yet to understand how 2K does the drafting or ranking when it comes to the Prospects. I always control all 30 teams in my Association so I can control the Draft, Trades and Free Agent signings. This prevents any Craziness that 2k AI seems to like to do. Drummond at this point is really just rated on Potential. He is very inconsistent and doesnt seem to give maxium effort. Kidd-Gilchrist on the other hand is a more complete prospect at the present time. I did the players Ratings based on their Strengths as of right now, so that may have to do with Kidd-Gilchrist going high. His game is most NBA ready(minus 3pt range) between him Davis and Drummond. Davis has alot of length and athleticism, but he actually reminds me of Anthony Randolph because of his frame. Davis does have the Potential to be a version of KG I believe, but time will tell.
