NBA 2K14 Missing Players List

Thought it would useful to start a list of missing players in NBA 2K14 for roster makers and 2K Sports to hopefully use. I'm basing these observations on the 2K14 ratings footage posted, now realize that some players (2nd round picks) could be hidden on the disk:

Philadelphia 76ers:Tim Ohlbrecht, Rodney Williams & Khalif Wyatt

Charlotte Bobcats: James Southerland

Milwaukee Bucks: Miroslav Radulijica

Chicago Bulls: None*

Cleveland Cavaliers: Matt Dellavedova

Boston Cetlics Vitor Faverani & Phil Pressey

L.A. Clippers: Brandon Davies

Memphis Grizzlies: #3 Willie Reed & Nick Calathies

Atlanta Hawks: Pero Antic (Cyberface available on Euroleague team)

Miami Heat: None*

Utah Jazz: Scott Machado, Jerel McNeal & Ian Clark

Sacramento Kings: Trent Lockett

New York Knicks: C.J. Leslie

L.A. Lakers: Elias Harris & Marcus Landry

Orlando Magic: None*

Dallas Mavericks: None*

Brooklyn Nets: None*

Denver Nuggets: None*

Indiana Pacers: Ron Howard

New Orleans Pelicans: Arinze Onuaku

Detriot Pistons: Luigi "Gigi" Datome

Toronto Raptors: Chris Wright (hidden cyberface) , Julyan Stone (h.c.), Carlos Morais & Dwight Buycks

Houston Rockets: None*

San Antonio Spurs: #16 Aron Baynes

Phoenix Suns: Dionte Christmas

Oklahoma City Thunder: None*

Minnesota Timberwolves: None*

Portland Trailblazers: None*

Golden State Warriors: Seth Curry & Dwayne Dedmon

Washington Wizards: None*

Please add in any observations and I'll update the first post.

Side-note: Some names added are likely just training camp invitees, but I'm adding them just in case they make the 15 man opening day roster. The list will change once October 31st approaches.

Re: NBA 2K14 Missing Players List

An in-depth list with player information will be released tomorrow morning for all custom roster editors to reference. While this list is a quick look, there are A LOT of players that you have missed. Best to do the research first and compile your list fully. And yes, the majority of those players that are not on your list are infact training camp invites, but regardless of their status with a team they need to be included so that everyone can use your list as a reference. My 2K14 Association Reference Guide has the exact information and in-depth anaylsis that you need in order to keep up to date.

Cool. Will do a more through list tomorrow evening and update the first post. Thanks for the information, guys.

I'm hoping they remove retired players, but hope that overseas players remain in the free-agency pool. Those players add more options for future years in people's association and we don't know if someone could return.

They really need to bring back the Summer Circuit (Summer League), D-League and incorporate Euroleague teams, while expanding them further, into the Association mode. These things would give that mode the necessary depth and realism it deserves, while making the foreign teams relevant in all modes. Making the game a truly international title more along the lines of FIFA and PES should be their ultimate goal, IMO.

Re: NBA 2K14 Missing Players List

Guys after further review it would be pretty pointless to compile a list at this time. Going by last year 2k most likely has all the 2nd round picks from this years draft on the game disc but have them hidden due contractual issues. Last year players like Mychal Thompson, Julyan Stone, Donald Sloan were also hidden players so its safe to assume certain players like that will be hidden. One thing that I am very upset about is 2k and their lack of attention to detail. Why are players like James Posey (an assistant coach for the Canton Charge, the Cavaliers d-league affiliate), Brian Skinner (retired), Tracy McGrady (retired), Jared Jeffries (retired) remain unlocked and take up slots in free agency? This aggrivates me to know end because last year was the first year that I was aware that 2K had players on the game disc, but had them hidden (prior to last year I didn't know if that was true for 2K11 or 2K12), but totally discredits their claim of having the most updated current rosters, which they obviously aren't able to EVER deliver on. Here's an example from 2K13 that should make my point. How is it, that a player like Julyan Stone who was on the Denver Nuggets 2011-12 roster for the entire season not be in the intial release of 2K13 when it came out? Over the next several months that 2K added a player or two in each update Julyan Stone continued to be kept hidden, despite being on the Denver Nuggets roster. Then in February the Houston Rockets signed a point guard by the name of Patrick Beverley, who within the next one or two 2K roster updates was created and added to the roster set and on the Rockets team. Now how do you continue to keep a player hidden and not put him on the team roster that he has been on for over a year, but yet Beverley is signed as a free agent in February and as quickly as it can happen he is created and added (with a cyberface) to the roster set and a member of the Houston Rockets. To me there is no excuse why both weren't available and then more importantly it seems as if 2K DOES have the ability to create a player and add them within their next roster update so should'nt we then EXPECT them to be so on point that throughout the first 2-3 months of the season that when a player is signed that has not played in the NBA before, shouldn't we EXPECT 2K to create and add that new player with the next roster update that follows his signing? They did it for Patrick Beverley so there's no valid reason that they can give us as to why they wouldn't do that for a player this season.

Players who have gone overseas this off season, why are they included into the free agent pool (they take up a slot for what reason?). After watching the video that was uploaded and going through team by team I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my pre-order of 2K14 because as a customer I feel that the product is lacking what are promised and this is now a YEARLY issue.

I would venture to say that when the XBOX One comes out and the 2K14 version for XBOX One is released that with the next gen consoles and it being connected to the internet at all times, that 2K, the NBA and whoever else needs to be a part of the solution make it so that for instance at 3:00 am every morning the rosters are updated to complete accuracy. I don't see that as being such a hard task to accomplish given the abilites and the technology that has been advanced that was put in the next gen consoles.

You're preaching the choir here. Nobody is more of a hardcore association mode player then myself which is why I can tell you that your suggestions have been posted by countless other community members until we are blue in the face and never get a response from anyone remotely part of that mode in the development area. I posted a blog writeup at the beginning of the 2012-13 season describing that if EA Sports wanted to make a big splash and really hit 2K where it hurts that they would scrap the NBA Live series and focus on what I called EA Sports presents NBA: The Association, where the entire game is fully devoted to Association online and offline play. No my player, no my team, no create-a-legend, no season, no playoff modes, and you create from the ground up a video game that took the Madden Franchise approach and give the user ENTIRE control over the organization.

While hardcore association mode members are probably a minority group, it definetly would give EA Sports a platform for a successfull video games series and challenge 2K to put their focus into their association mode and not concentrate so much on the My player or My team modes.

Re: NBA 2K14 Missing Players List

2k does this same crap every year, why is it so hard for them to put out an accurate roster? I know they use the roster as of July or August, but in my case How do you have Tony Wroten Fab Melo and Akognon on the grizzlies and no Nick Calathes? I just hope when they do add him that they give him a cyber face he wasn't hidden in 2k13 but he was hidden on 2k12

Re: NBA 2K14 Missing Players List

Why do you list players that "should" be removed?
Just be happy 2k has them in the game.

If you guys wouldn't tell them we might stilly have Marbury and all those guys :/
