Is there a way to stop the rising salary cap?

Playing 2K13 but I believe this could apply to almost any of the 2K's. In long-term association modes, the salary cap rises to ridiculous levels, inflating salaries way too high. By 2035 or so, the cap is around 130 Million while salaries climb as high as 45 million a year. Does anyone know a way to keep the salary cap at a constant? Or at least keep it from inflating to such a high degree?

If anything, that's a laughable underestimate. Kobe just got paid 30M a year. In 2014. In 2035, what do you think someone in the exact same circumstances would make?
