do layups/dunks count as close shots?

might be a stupid question but in the tendancies/coach profiles etc. is a close shot considered a layup/dunk too? or is a close shot just stuff like post moves?

basically any shot in the paint. So yes dunks and layups are close shots.

No you are totally wrong. In 2k9, close shots success only controls jumpshots and fadeaways , any other animation (ie. layups, hookshots, up and unders ect.) are governed only by the layup success slider, dunks are goverened by the dunk sliders.

If you don't believe me try it for yourself, go to practise mode and put layup success at 0 and close shots at 100, i guarantee you WILL NOT MAKE A SINGLE LAYUP OR HOOKSHOT, but you will MAKE EVERY jumpshot 5' to 10' out. The opposite will be true if you reverse the sliders

No they do not count as dunks and layups

        Attacks basket = Drives/Dunks/Layups

True, Close Shot Success does govern jumpshots and fades. But, Close shot Tendency covers all moves around and in the paint-which is the one that needs to be lowered greatly for any sort of realistic play. This games loves the paint way too much (check the sig).

              are you sure though?

because i swear when i turn down close shots, i miss layup after layup (along with close jumpshots)..

but when i turn it back up, all my layups go in

              it could be a coincidence?

Ok so close shots are only jumpshots/fadeaways between 5-10' out?

i will test it out myself in practice mode too -thx.
