    FG attempts question

I picked two random teams, raptors and knicks. I looked up the stats for a game they had this year and I played as the raptors with some realistic sliders i've been testing out. The game was played in all star difficulty, with 12 minute quarters.

The stats that were not so close to the real life game in particular were the fg attempts. As the raptors I shot 35-84 from the field (41%) in real life they shot 40-81 (49%)..that's not so bad since im controlling the team. But the knicks shot 41-100! (41%) and even worse 9-34(26%) from the 3pt! In the real game the knicks went 38-87, and 7-23 from 3pt.

So my question is, what can i do to cool off the computers urge to just throw up the ball? It seemed like it was playing with no strategy at all. Im looking to lower that 100fg attempts to a realistic 90 and below.

    any help is great

    Re: FG attempts question

Lower the inside, close, and 3pts shots.
    Make Mid-range shots around 80-90
logically lower the shot success, also play on hall of fame 12 mins.
my sliders (which i'll be posting soon) gives me realistic gameplay, stats, & scores.
for example, the knicks are shooting a 101.37 ppg right now.
in my association, they're shooting 99.7 ppg.

Teams shoot around 75-85 shots per game and around 10-20 3's. So you have it way to high.

first off what u need to do is play good defense! I played the knicks and held them to 83 fg attempts with my inside and close at 50 and mid range and 3 pt at 60. All about playing defense. Being a step ahead of CPU.

Turning down the game speed helps too.

I agree with this. CPU will become selective if you play good defense on them.

                      Re: FG attempts question

The biggest factor is the number of free throws are way too low in this game, as are personal fouls. With less shots the CPU would ahve attempted less threes (30 shots out of 100 is 30%, while most teams shoot around 25%, so really only a little high). If you check and post the CPU free throws I suspect it was quite low. Personal fouls figure in because moving screens etc... results in turnovers that reduce the number of shots.

you also have to take into account what team and coach you're playing against.
NY plays an up tempo style in this game, they spread the floor and shoot alot of 3's.

I wouldnt mess with the sliders so much, but would just play tighter defense on the shooters.
