Re: mkharsh33 - NBA 2K11 - ALL STAR Sliders (12 min...real player %)

After many, many games (and still doing more "testing" on these) I've found a big discovery (at least it was to me):

Shooting percentages, after all the other changes that I have made, are tied to the SHOT BLOCKING SLIDER!!!

I played the same matchups and tweaked this ONE slider, and it created crazy issues. Raise the user block slider to 45 and the cpu could shoot barely 40%. Lower it down to 40, and the cpu would shoot around the 60% mark.

Same is true for the cpu's...there was a great disparity. So if you're still using these, I've tweaked the SUPER STAR level sliders - everything is at the bottom of page 1 - post 1. Latest updates are there so all you have to do is plug in the numbers. Thanks!

It must be that the shot blocking slider affects not only the % of time a shot is blocked, but the success rate of contested shots. Very interesting.

It was really weird. It was getting frustrating because I really want to play Super Star Level, but not at the expense of having fun. (I have no plans, at this time, to purchase 2k12 - unless it's just that overwhelmingly good - and I don't doubt it has that potential). So I want to keep working to get these 100% correct. But that ONE slider was making all the difference in the world.

I also found at 45 (user shot block) that my PG's would block 3-5 shots a game from the perimeter. Again, not real. So, it's trying to find a balance.

I also believe that the "contest shot" slider is 100% worthless. It does absolutely nothing and guys will still hit ridiculous shots with a hand right in their eyeballs... So I think it's the shot block slider that really affects the shooting percentages...

Re: mkharsh33 - NBA 2K11 - ALL STAR Sliders (12 min...real player %)

Seems like the Contest Shot slider is a tendency slider for the defense - how often the defender will go for a block. The block slider determines the effectiveness of the contest, whether it results in an actual block or just a lower percentage shot.

Good to see someone else sticking with 2K11. 2K12 looks outstanding, but I'm going back to getting sports games every other year. Buying every year doesn't give me enough time to get deep into a dynasty, which is what I enjoy most.

I made the decision the other day to stick with 2K11, at least for the next few months. I'm still picking up 2K12 (really want the Magic cover) since I have it pre-ordered and paid for with trade-ins, but I won't take it out of the shrink wrap until I finish up the Associations I have going in 2K11.

Re: mkharsh33 - NBA 2K11 - ALL STAR Sliders (12 min...real player %)

hey what's up with 2K12 Mike are you passing this year?

i was hoping to relax and then fire up your sliders with all the roster work i'm trying to finish in NCAA 11, Madden 12 and College Hoops 2K8

Let me know if your passing this year and i'll try to get back into NBA 2K sliders myself really enjoyed taking the year off last year and just used your set mostly with minor tweaks all year.

yeah, gonna pass this year. portlandblazer appears to be moving to the PC version for 2k12, and i have no desire to play an nba game unless it's with classic/historical rosters. so, 2k11 meets my needs. i traded in college hoops 2k8, but if you're gonna do that project i might re-purchase it (for next to nothing). so you might want to run with the slider project this year,as you put a lot of time into them and always develop a great set!
