You really have to know your team in order to succeed with these sliders. I was using the 97-98 rosters, and I managed to beat the 76ers using the Lakers with extreme ease. Then, I tried playing against the Knicks using the Jazz, and I was in the process of getting blown out of the gym halfway through the second quarter before I rage quit. I don't know how to be successful with the Jazz, but I grew up as a Lakers fan, so I felt right at home. There's also the fact that the Knicks were great back then, with Ewing et co.

The sliders can feel downright cheap if you don't know what you're doing, but it's all about strategy. You need to mess with every aspect of your defensive settings and your coach profile, as well as determine who you're going to run the offense through and who the shooters will be.

...yeah, the beauty of these is you have to know the NBA during those different generations. You've got to figure out who you're gonna try and stop.

the other night i ran a test run of my 98-99 rosters (I'm 12 teams away from 100% completion). I let John Starks go off on me for 39 points and I simply could not stop him. I lost by 16 (I think). I played again, this time keying in on him defensively. This time he went 9-31, had 21 points but was a non-factor as he hit a couple cheap ones late and I had him frustrated. In the 2nd game I changed up my defenses (sometimes) but I played the 2 guard on D and started denying him the ball. It seemed to throw the cpu's offensive sets off and put them in positions where they were taking bad shots with only a couple seconds left on the shot clock...

here's the beauty: this is REAL LIFE NBA basketball!!!! I won that game by 20. They made a run at me and cut it down to 6, and I started to get antsy and wanted to screw with the sliders again, thinking that I was wasting my time and nearly wanting to drop back down to all-star and give up on the super star set altogether. But I closed out strong and went on a run to push it back out 14 before they called timeout. They shot 43% on me... So I think I'm set with the superstar set... I just love how much smarter the game plays at this level...

3 minor updates to super star level (tuesday, 10/25, 3:15 am):

- lowered cpu take 3's down to 5 (from 10)...still seeing a few too many being shot
- lowered cpu blocking down from 64 to 63...was affecting user shooting percentages
- lowered minutes played down from 12 to 11...user preference, but I like a little faster pace (scores a tad high)

All noted on page 1 - post 1 at bottom of page.

More testing to Super Star Level - some changes (small) but to a number of areas. I believe these will be the "final" set. They play with fluidity and sim-like style. You have the difficulty of the Super Star level, but the added fairness factor:

Friday, October 28th @ 9:30 am (anything in RED is updated from previous set):

ATTRIBUTES (User / CPU):
Quickness: 53 / 48
Vertical: 53 / 48
Strength: 65 / 40
Stamina: 55 / 25

Hands: 85 / 85
Offensive Awareness: 100 / 100

Fatigue Rate: 45 / 75

TENDENCIES (User / CPU):
Attempt Dunks: 0 / 0

two things changed...seeing too many cpu "morphing" animations on SS level - sometimes it's hard to get separation or you'll see a defender suddenly run in front of you on a fast break.

Quickness: 55 / 45
Vertical: 55 / 45

More changes to Super Star level. I am finding SS level to be VERY frustrating, to the point of not being much fun. There is something this level gives that All Star level lacks, but it seems the cpu "cheat factor" is heavily involved. If you're still using these for 2K11 (or Sladler's 2K12) note the changes in post 1 - page 1.

That was one of my favourite in the series. The scenes with Vlade Divac speaking with Petro's mom were incredible. A very heartfelt movie...

Have fun....

Re: mkharsh33 - NBA 2K11 - ALL STAR Sliders (12 min...real player %)

I think these are pretty much a "final" set...

I changed the stamina and fatigue settings back to the original settings (Super Star and All Star are now both the same). Was seeing some CRAZY and way off fatigue rates for both sides (user players were dead tired but cpu was not - in some ways I'm not really sure how these two settings work as the logic I was using must have not been close).

CPU blocking set at 56 and User blocking at 44.

Page 1 - Post 1 is updated as of Monday, Oct. 31st, 11:30 am (these are for 2K11).
