sladler 2K12 Sim style based on MKHarsh 2K11

Hey everyone! I have noticed that MKHarsh seems to be the man for the 2K11 sliders. Since he does not have 2K12 I have taken it upon myself to tweek his 2K11 work. I started with his base and made changes as needed. I have been playing for a week straight and will continue to tweak as needed. The next post will have the sliders. I will post box scores after each of my association games. All feedback will be considered. Lets get to work!

Game 1 box score. It was a defensive battle. Real close game. Must games wiith these sliders are a bit higher scoring than this one.

Play another game or two and post. Also write more about how the game really played: more like real basketball or like a video game. So far I have not found a way for a point guard like Rose to beat his man off the dribble consistently.....HE SHOULD.....they double down to him when he drives, because they have to...But not in 2K12 yet.

To fix Agame's issue, I'd suggest raising user quickness to 53. With on ball defense at 70, you're going to get those "force-field effects" on defense. I know there are many slider creators who like a lower on ball defense, but I do not. I like it higher, otherwise the game turns into a layup fest. But raising the quickness slider actually brought out some cool animations, especially when you get good on the right stick / left trigger dribble moves. Just a suggestion (and very humbled by your kind words in post 1). Thanks!

Would lowering on ball d and raising help defense effectiveness help with that? That's how it happens in real life, the roses and wades get by their on ball defender and (not) get stopped or forced into bad shots by help defense.

it's a catch-22... you want the cpu to play SMART / High IQ basketball. So what I like to do is raise the defensive awareness and the on-ball defense, BUT raise the user quickness up a bit. I found in my slider testing that this really brought out some cool dribble animations. it does NOT cheapen the game. For 2K11 (since I don't own 2K12) I have found 53 to be the sweet spot for user quickness. yes, I still get bumped a bit, but the alternative of running circles around the cpu defender is no fun. you've also got to be good on the sticks, but if you practice at it, it really looks like NBA-talent type moves. Again, just my opinion...

Will update User quickness to 53 in original post. It makes sense since the CPU can get past the user a lot easier than the user can get past the CPU.

MK hope you do not mind the thread. I am giving you your props since I used your sliders as a base. Just want to have a fine tuned set for 2k12!

Game 2 of my Association Stats. Good game. Tied going into the 4th quarter. I could not contain Caron Butler. Game seemed solid. May need to tone down the blocking. Ill play a few more games and see. This game was played with all the adustments in post one.

I am going to play at least 1 more game before adjusting the blocking. Game 1 was good at 4 and 5 per team. Game 2 was way too high with 8 and 11 per team. Lets see what happens in game three. Try taking it down by 5 each if you want and see what happens. Please post your results here. I will play another game or two on my setting and then go from there. I am not sure if it was the Dallas defense or the setting itself.

I lowered CPU blocking to 44. They got 2 blocks in the next game. I am good with that. The next issue to adjust is stealing. I will be testing a few tweeks to limit the amount of steals. Most of the setals that are happening are on the ball and not pass interceptions.

Game 3 stats. It was a classic! I jumped out to a 15 point lead and held a 10 point lead most of the game. Golden State tied it in the 4th. They had a jumper at the buzzer but missed. Pretty realistic. Only issue is the amount of steals.

Nice sliders, my fave's so far.

Although I believe the consensus is that the Fatigue Slider is the other way around this year. ie inrcreaseng the slider makes the players tire faster. I have mine at 60.
