Took this straight from the OP.

(Below: where there are two sets of numbers: user / cpu)
Thank you although it doesn't specify that all of them are for HUM and CPU.. merely that the ones with two numbers apply to hum / cpu.. which could mean as opposed to being cpu / hum. you answered my question though, so thanks

PAGE 1 - POST 1 COMPLETELY UPDATED!!!

Wednesday, October 10 at 1:45 PM

Any tweaks you make will be at YOUR OWN discretion - I have no plans to update these (until a possible patch arrives). Anything new is updated in RED / BOLD.

These play about as perfectly as I can get them. Be sure to double-check your numbers. Note the underlined/bolded explanation given on page 1 regarding one or two sets of numbers (which should answer any confusion). Enjoy!

Mike

One more thing:

you guys that are getting deeper into your Association Modes - keep an eye on INJURIES for me. I don't know what INJURY FREQUENCY and SEVERITY sliders are doing. Thanks!

These sliders really make things better. Got 2 observations tho.

1. The speed/quickness 55/40 combo, really seems to me a bit unfair. Ive pld 3 games already and i felt that im cheesy against the cpu outrunning them in the court. Had to lower user's sliders to something like 50-45 to feel fair again.

2. No way the cpu will foul enough.. I wish there was a slider like "Commit fouls" like in the past (i think 2k11). Anything below than 100 and maybe leaving the shooting fouls @ 90 won't produce enough fouls.

3. Glad you adopted the 48/46 passing accuracy.. we need turnoverssss !

Here some screeshots (in the game against dallas , foul sliders weren't at 100, against hornets every1 was 100 except shooting that was @ 90) :

I have a question though....

Ther ehave been great games for me using these where the gam eis really close and fun....

Ther ehave been games where I have been blown out by 20+ points.. and I;m fine with that. I was playing bad.

but the last 2 games I had have been blowouts on my side...

Using the Nets and the latest set of sliders I was able to be up 49-16! before hlaftime against the Spurs. I quit this game at that point because that wasnt fun =/

Next game... Blowing out the Knicks 3 out of the 4 quarters by 20+. They made it back to single digits in the 4th but lost by 12 at the end.

My question is, is that spurs game a fluke or something? Same thing for the Knicks. I don't see the Nets doing any of those things in reality. Is it because I actually know how NBA teams play and I use them too properly? Why am I getting these types of games?

Should I raise some sliders to fix this? Blowing teams out by 20/30+ isnt fun for me.

I don't cheese or play unfairly btw. I use plays (On Auto, I let my coach call em) and then I follow them. If During one of them I see a player open I would usually stop following it and use D-will or someone that is known for passing to give it to the wide open player and let em shoot.

It would be better if mkharsh gave you an answer, but a few possibilities came to my mind.

1-Lower consistency means more varied shooting, so maybe CPU teams got into extended cold streaks and could not shake it off.

2- This is a long shot. Back in the old Choops 2k8 days there was this legacy bug related to user profile (If I remember correctly). All of a sudden CPU would start struggling on offense. From 40% ish, they would drop %20-%30 range. Deleting the profile and creating a new one fixed the issue. Since this is a 2K game..

quickness problem (if it is one) is an easy fix: just raise the cpu up in increments of 5. As stated, these are the "final base" settings - I've learned that when guys ask questions within slider threads the answers are usually answered in how they phrased the question.

It's tough to say whether or not you have to adjust the sliders as only you can really tell whether or not the game is a fluke or if you are picking up the A.I. and the A.I. is just becoming too predictable in it's play. I haven't seen this from the CPU as in my most recent game the I got blown out by the Thunder as I was the Clippers. I've also had my share of blowouts in my favor. Anything is possible in reality but that Spurs game is probably an outlier in the normal distribution of outcomes, but you really have to play a large sample size to get a feel for the sliders as you can have an outlier that isn't truly representative of this slider set's normal distribution curve in your first few games. As far as the Knicks, that's a pretty realistic outcome IMO, I see the Nets and Knicks splitting the season series this year. I mean think about the Knicks, the Ball stops with Melo on the offensive end, either he is on or he is off, and when he is off they are very beatable.

The most important aspect of sliders IMO is gameplay, does it feel realistic, are you seeing things or animations that are not representative of real life. IMO with this slider set I'm seeing great gameplay, so sim stats likely will follow. Will every game's result be optimal in terms of sim stats, probably not, but then again what is sim? To get a definition of what is sim you have to calculate the expected team statistics for the Nets this year and there record, and then play a similar schedule to them and an adequate sample size to see if the stats you get from the game are close to your expected stats. I"m not a fan of all that, I just use the eye test and don't really care about the results because unless I have an exact calculated standard for what is sim, it's really not worth getting a case of slideritis.
