I still care, I just feel like actually playing, doing some trades, and building up a team in Association mode for a while. I just want to enjoy the game for a few days before I go back to "working" on it haha

Re: NBA 2k13 "The Eccentric Edition" - All-Star Slider Set

I share the slider frustration, and I'm also glad to know that when I stated a week ago that the art updates were screwing with the sliders that I wasn't just seeing things (even when some said I was crazy).

Also, I think something needs to be taken into account regarding the current rosters versus the old school rosters. The NBA was MUCH different 20+ years ago, so I don't see how anyone can develop a set of sliders for both current and historic rosters that are remotely the same. When working on 2K11 sliders I actually did a study of statistics from 1980 til now. I was amazed at the change of things around 1996 when scores DRASTICALLY lowered, where hardly any teams averaged above 100 PPG. (So when I use rosters from 1996 or later I lower the minutes played to 11 for the scoring adjustments). Just something I caught in the midst of this discussion...

But I've actually went back to playing 2K11 - and I just LOVE that game so much more than 2K13...

To the post above 2k11 is an amazing game. I still go back to it. 2k13 is tricky. If the sliders aren't balanced the game can get herky jerky. After a couple of days of using EM's sliders the game seemed to revert back a bit (CPU V CPU- perhaps due to updates). I've had to make more changes and actually dumb down the defense a bit to bring down instances of players bumping all into one another. With 2k11, that issue wa not nearly as prevalent. The problem with 2k11 is that it is difficult to implement the fast break. But in sum 2k11 is a really good game

Re: NBA 2k13 "The Eccentric Edition" - All-Star Slider Set

Took me a year, but I've created a slider set for 2K 11 that plays amazingly fun - never the same, and through giving the cpu a HUGE boost in player quickness, was able to slow down the user dribble options that enabled me to blow by them on a continuous basis. but enough of this - not wanting to hijack the thread. Just get frustrated at how 2K13 seems to change every time I turn the game on...

You're not hijacking at all! I'm actually enjoying the discussion, and it's making me want to REALLY go back to playing 2k11. That game was the benchmark for basketball games, and somehow 2k has just failed to live up to its own creation.

And the sad thing about it is, 2k11 not only has the vastly superior gameplay, but they have the superior graphics and player models, too! The only thing 2k13 has over 2k11 is the control scheme and the animations.

The perfect basketball game would be 2k11 with 2k12's control scheme and 2k13's animations.

2k11 is still great today. The only downside to me is that the AI is unable to fight through off ball screens resulting in unrealistic amounts of 3s and mid range shots by role players. Other than that, I'd take 2k11 with enhanced playbooks over 2k13 anytime.
Just played a few games yesterday and it's amazing how good contact animations were implemented. The game just feels 'right'.

Regarding your sliders, now I know attack the basket has to be lowered in order to make the AI stop the paint spamming, on the other hand it seems like lowering this tendency alters the way PGs behave in PnR situations.
I often see PGs not reacting to the pick at all, which makes playmakers much less effective since the AI won't trigger any reaction from the screener before the PG starts a move, so the whole offense collapses.

Lowering ball handling to 0 (I liked it that way since 2k11) doesn't work because the AI is too passive even with attack the basket set to 100.

Do you have any other ideas maybe?

Re: NBA 2k13 "The Eccentric Edition" - All-Star Slider Set

Great, thanks. I've never tried every tendency at 0. Are star players still dominating? I'm thinking about aggressive PGs like Rose driving and post players still being fed down low?

Also, do you really get realistic free throw attempts with contact being that high?
I like to run cpu vs cpu and with everything at 100 I often saw 40 to 50 free throws per game.
