Other factors are on ball defense and ball handling rating also.

And I agree too that drive the lane is a very important off ball tendency.
Keep up the great work!
But here is what's great about Slimm's scale, if you check the HoopData shot locations for inside scoring you'll see that both Lebron and Wade are in THE TOP TEN for inside shot attempts per game. No other team is gonna give me a problem like these guys and I've already figured out how to get the team under 60 points in the paint a game. (Still working on lowering it and having great gameplay)

I'm really liking the results thus far. And my next idea is gonna be "Tomba level" crazy but I think it's gonna work and greatly improve the overall experience.

Drive the lane is 100% an off ball tendency.

It heavily influences what the ball carrier does but in no way does it make the ball carrier drive the lane.

It has been stated many times in multiple threads but this game is just too agro when it comes to aggression.

However here are the reasons I clung so tightly to my false beliefs.

3pt shooters deciding on driving: both ray and miller would choose to run off the 3pt line instead of shooting. This was happening because I lowered the offensive Tempo to 0 and there was still "too much" time in the shot clock.

Ball handlers pushing on the break: this should have been obvious to me but with everyone at 100 it would be weird to expect a ball handler to ignore 4 teammates screaming and waving their arms as they fly up the court. What is interesting about this is, it only takes 1 person that is not a point guard to complete ruin a game. If Chalmers has a chance to pass it to a cherry picker he will. This is the origin of the crazy lob pass.

Players driving despite us trying our best to stop "all driving": there are a bunch of contributing factors for this, the tendency to attack the basket, a low pull up or shoot from triple threat tendency, offensive awareness. But there is one important one you can't change. Inside shot. The higher a players tendency to take an inside shot the more he is going to want to score from there (I know, duh), this is why Dwayne and Lebron insist on driving despite the fact that we destroyed every reason they would have for driving.

Ugh that hurt so much to type. I spent a solid 8 pages ademently defending how wrong I was lol.

Oddly this doesn't change much of the editing I planned on,

What I'm probably gonna do is lower the scale to 25 and reserve a 25 rating for hustle guys like Splitter and Wallace. Literally all aspects of aggression can be better controlled through coach profiles.

HAHA!! Dude, rub it in. I would if I were you

I'd open a big can of "I told you so."

Go back a few pages to see what I want to do with fastbreak. Can you think of a controlled way to test this?

I'm gonna be messing around with drive the lane but it will definetly stay low enough that whatever we decide to do with Tempo shouldn't impact the sample to greatly.

Man, I just think it's cool we can now define the DTL tendency. I'll go back and re-read the whole thread re: Fast Break.

EDIT: Do you want to edit the first post to make it a "Glossary" with definitions for the things we figure out? That would be easy for roster makers to locate and it will help us identify what we have already determined/what we need to work on next.

I planned on starting up a blog that thoroughly covers only the things we unnanomusly agree on. There is already a definitions thread and this blog should help me gather my thoughts for this Roster that I'm gonna crank out

Lol sorry yeah i guess i shouldn't have named which roster i was using, but if you could answer hypothetically for anyone making edits to the coaching profiles, in your opinion would the match flow better with offensive tempo less than 100? If so, what should it be at?

Nice try, dude. Please don't get me in any more trouble with him. He really doesn't like me right now.

In general Tempo varies from team to team. The cool thing about this years 2k is we can change the game tempo slider around without effecting sim stats, thank you VT for making me aware of that.

Lool yeah sorry mate like i said i really shouldn't have mentioned what roster i was using. I'm just at a loss as to what to set offensive tempo too. Could you at least pm me what you have set yours at?

Just have one more question, have you simmed any matches with the testing your doing to see the sim results you get? Or just focusing on gameplay?
