QPC - Please run that test again with both teams set at CPU, not Coach Mode. See if the same thing happens. When I was testing DTL/ATB/PA/PU, it was with both teams set to CPU.

Is there a simple slider that can be manipulated to remedy this or does that entail detailed player editing? Sorry if this is off topic but didn't want to start a new thread and saw that this was a Think Tank thread.
I can confirm that high offensive tempo helps.

If it's on a set play which is a PNR, though, I believe:

A PNR Mid-Range should tell the player to pop mid-range.
A PNR 3PT should tell the player to pop 3PT.
A PNR Roll should tell the player to roll to the basket.
A PNR Option play should have a built-in option to determine whether the Pick Man rolls or pops.

I have not tested this thoroughly, but I believe this SHOULD be true. That being said, 2K has some Mid Range plays that end as a 3PT, some High Post plays that end as a Low Post play, and some 3PT plays that end as PNR.
I've tested this again and I can unfortunately confirm that only an high mid and/or 3pt tendency "unlocks" the pop in freelance pick and roll situations.
With DTL 0 and MID 50,Ibaka will always roll to the basket.
With DTL above 0 and MID 80,Serge will always pop to the 16"-23" area.

Got a question for anyone who wants to answer....

Looking from a statistical perspective how would you rate the drive and pull up tendencies for the following 2 players

Jeremy Lin : 37% of his shots were layups, 63% were jump shots

Jameer Nelson: 22% of his shots were Layups, 77 % were jump shots

could you use the percentages as the tendencies?? Thanks for your time and help...
For me it means that they need an high mid or 3pt tendency.

JWill is right about DTL(and bigtrey was right)

It is On Ball.

It does not effect player motion without the ball.

Video Test:
Red Team - DTL=100
White Team - DTL=0
10 Bill Cartwright on the court?!?!?!?This is a nightmare....

Referred to real life, you wrote the truth.
But this game works exactly in the opposite way!
'hey guys, if you play for me we shoot close to the basket." nba 2k13 "reasons" in this way.

I gave 100 3pt tend to Battier and 90 to Chalmers but 0 3pt in coach profiles and they shoot only if they were completely free, all alone, and their teammates very rarely look at them.
Have each coach profiles shot locations at 0 breaks the flow of the game.

My opinion however is that coach profiles need a complete overhaul.

Biggest issue I am having that I don't have a solution in mind for is; for some reason now that DTL is being used players are more likely to 'break the play' and seem less willing to pass at times.
Is the act of driving breaking up the play or is the shot breaking the play, maybe you can lower their attack or up their pump fake to encourage them to calm the **** down.

How high did you raise their drive the lane tendency?

It is not necessarily his mid shot tendency. The roll and the pick play being called is largely determined by the tendency break down of a player, please check the dispersement of values with Drive at 0%. Is it mostly in Post now? That encourages him to roll as well.

So Check how high his freelance post tendency is and you can determine how much had been taken away from his midrange percentage.

Also, I hate math.
