    Assists

Do you think this game calculates assists correctly in the stats? In other words, is it giving too much credit to the passer who gave the scorer the ball? Where do the draw the line between an assist and not an assist in the NBA? Does the game do the same?

I'm not exactly sure how the NBA decides on assists, but I have a feeling part of the reason there are such high assist numbers in this game is how the game computes them.

Na,I've watched this .The assists are given only when earned. The rule for getting an assist is a pass(obviously) then no more than 2 or 3 dribbles(I think) before scoring.

Thats the issue though. We can SKIP animations on the game if we want; so if we skip a dribble animation does it still count as a dribble or not?
      Concrete evidence/videos please

Maybe I'm just dumb, but am I missing something? How do you skip an animation? I've wanted to skip several long developing layups but I dont know how.

          Re: Assists

There's no "(number) dribbles" rule in the NBA as far as I know. It's if the player sets up his own shot or if the shot is set up by the pass itself.

Nothing is wrong with the Assists. They are calculated correctly

              Re: Assists

it suppose to be 2 dribbles plus another move; 2 steps, hop step, drop step, spin move, pump fake, or a crossover then the shot is a assist. 2K8 does a lil more gives a lot of passes for scores assist that shouldn't.
Players pump fake 2/3 times and they still count it as an assist. I have seen it when a player catch the ball from half court and they count it as an assist.
They need to fix the assist problem in 2K9...
