    240 Minutes

I play franchise with 11min quarters. I could have sworn that the game used to translate that into 12 min quarters in regards to the player's "minutes played" statistic.

Essentially, each game, stats wise, I'm only getting 220 total minutes.

Am I imagining that the game used to prorate the minutes so your player has an accurate MPG stat dispite how long your quarters are?

Those that play 5/6 min quarters; your players must have rediculously low "MPG" in regards to the rest of the league.

    Some insight/help please.

    Thanks

      Re: 240 Minutes

Sorry, let me try to explain.

Real NBA game: 5 positions, each position plays 12 minutes a quarter X 4 quarters = 240 total minutes.

My played franchise games: 5 position, each position plays 11 minutes a quarter X 4 quarters = 220 total minutes.

Say I'm the lakers and I keep Kobe in the entire game for every game of the season. In real life, his MPG would be 48. In my season its only 44 MPG. I thought the game did a calculation based on the minutes/quarter to make everything equal to a real 48 minute game. (this is my real question)

So if someone plays 5 minute quarters, and they kept kobe in for the entire game, his MPG would only be 20 MPG...which compared to the others in the league would be pitiful.

If i understand correctly, The cpu just calculates the rotation minutes down to match the quarter length, so it doesnt calculate your min up to be equal to 12 min quarters, If mpg is getting to you you have to play 12 min quarters or drop the sim quarter length down to 11

            Re: 240 Minutes

Yea, im just looking for comparable MPG for my team's players vs. the rest of the league.

So if you play 5 min quarters, there is no possible way you can have a guy lead the league in MPG (since his max mpg would be 20)?

You would think by now that nba games would just do a calculation so it matches up, ie: if you play 6 min quarters, it takes your players minutes played for that game x2 for the season stats.

I see what you are saying now. It keeps his stats from being as much as other players. Dont' worry bout it. Minutes per game aint' nothing.

The game NEVER did that. It only goes by what you actually PLAY

This guy is making a big deal out of something that can easily be solved. Just change your "Simulation Minutes" to the same amount of minute quarters you play.....

                      Re: 240 Minutes

will this affect a players moral? I would hate to get farther into this franchise just to figure out my starters will get pissed because they aren't going to get 30 minutes. Juan Carlos Navarro is already mad and he is set to get about 20 minutes as a Role Player which seems like more than he should need to be happy. By the way I play on 10 minute quarters so I get a total of about 200 minutes a game while the normal is 240. One thing that I did notice was odd is that the other team had a total of 189. I don't think they were playing short handed for 11 minutes lol

^^^ Minutes only play a part of a player's happiness. Their role goes a long way.

When it comes to the minutes the players expect refer to the team rotations screen. cuz if its set to 30 minutes there, even if ur only playin 5 min quarters it still counts as the player gettin their 30 mins a game

This is the only part of the game that does calculations between 48min games v.s watever qrt length u play on

                            Re: 240 Minutes

So if I have a guy as starter with 40 mins in rotation window, he wont get mad if he rides the pine @ 0 MPG? Did I understand you correctly? Or do you mean if you actually play them the equavalent of 40 MPG in 5 min quarters (about 17 MPG) they will stay happy?

Another issue: franchise achievements such as "play a rookie 30 MPG" would be quite difficult (aka impossible) if you play 5 min quarters.

So much complaining, with such an easy solution. Set your game minutes to 12, set your simulation minutes to 12. No problems after that. Simulation minutes should be what your game minutes are anyways if you are worried about your team's MPG stacking up with the other teams in the NBA on the stats screens...
