NBA 2K9 Preview (ESPN Videogames)
ESPN has posted their preview of NBA 2K9.
"Oh yeah, did I mention the game? Last year, gamers complained about 2K8 being a tad slower than 2K7, so the developers pushed the speed back to 2K7 levels while at the same time adding even more authenticity to the way the players on the court move and react. In previous iterations of the series, there seemed to be a lot of standing around on offense due to the fact that when the user controlled the ball and didn't run the team's play correctly, the game always defaulted to running a quick isolation for the man dribbling. It was basically a robotic response to user stupidity. But these days, even if the gamer doesn't know how to run plays, the CPU teammates finally react intelligently, helping set screens (players like Rasheed will pick and pop), sending the right guy to the post, and running shooters like Ray Allen around picks, giving the game a much more organic feel as the action on the court is no longer scripted."Tags: None -
Re: Huge New Preview on ESPN.com
Would that be the same Jon Robinson of IGN fame who used to do the association previews? That was always a good way to see what the CAP was going to be like. I thought the off ball "jersey grabbing" was only for 5on5 online mode. Nothing really exciting in the preview because the stuff they added are things you can't evaluate until you're on the sticks.Comment

Re: Huge New Preview on ESPN.com
Sounds pretty good I'm not trying to hate so plz don't jump on me the NBA.com feature in the association 2.0 sounds like a rip of, of how the newspaper in the old maddens use to work, which isnt a bad thing I hate boring franchise modes.Comment

Nice.... I am finally pumped for this game! Just looking at those screens alone I can tell this game has improved and will be the best b-ball game ever! Player faces look spot-on; adding facial expressions will really add to the realism!Comment

Re: Huge New Preview on ESPN.com
Is there really such a thing as a original thought.... I think its smart for developers to "borrow" ideas from other games...Last edited by BigTigLSU; 09-15-2008, 11:25 PM.Comment
