I know it's not just pressing the block button, so what do you do? And does your player have to have a block rating that's at a certain value or higher?
How do you get the "block from behind" animation like in these videos?

Most of the time it is done by moving your feet to stay with them instead of holding the lockdown button. The defender will block it if possible on their own (just like when they strip the ball on a spin) without you pushing a button.

The CPU does it more often than me. (the block in the second vid that is)
I see the animation usually after a lead pass or a blow by and the CPU catches up. Ive done it a couple of times on fastbreaks, and manually coming over to help....pretty sure its just a random animation though man....
Now the block in the 1st vid I see more often....Happens when im player locking a driver...I dont really remember pressing the block button when I see any of these animations...ill try and pay attention for you...Comment

it probably has something to do with player's defensive awareness. maybe the higher it is, they may have extra defensive animations?Comment

yeah the cpu does those blocks more often.
Today I thought I had a clear layup to the hoop, and D WEST out of no where came from behind and blocked a shot off of teh back board. no goal tending call.
in the same game, which was a nail biter. My player Trevor Ariza did a reverse lay up and got fouled, and a team-mate, Richard Jefferson came up to him and nudged him on the back of the head in approval.
nice touch. cause that was the go ahead basket. Lost the game on a last second mid range jumper by David West.
anyways Ive only had a few blocks like that.Comment
