quick question, how do you give and go

I used to know the command and I forgot, how to pass the ball and the icon stays atop your player, you cut and let go of the button and the other guys passess to you, how do you do this again?

LT + RT + A (X Box 360)
L2 + R2 + X (PS3)
this should do it

when i try this all i do is throw the ball into the air for an alley oop. am i doing something wrong?

Are you playing 2K10 or 2K11?

it even says during the tutorial to hold down L and R and then push B to pass. but every time i do this it i just lob up an alley oop pass to no one as if i was just pushing L and pass. i am using the wii version with the classic controller and i am wondering if it is a glitch in this version of the game, or if i have something in the settings set up wrong. or if there's just something really obvious i'm not doing. i just know every time a hold down L and R and then push pass i get a failed alley oop and not a give and go

There is the problem. LT + B is alley oop. LT + RT + A should be give and go.

i guess my question then (and i guess i can't really expect an answer) is what would be causing this?
i know all the buttons work (at least individually) and i've tried using 2 different controllers.

could there be a glitch with my game disc? a glitch with the nintendo wii version of the game? is there some setting i need restored to default?

basically i have no idea what to do about this problem and i really don't want to buy a whole xbox360+another copy of nba2k11 just so i can do one specific play in one specific video game.
