Best NBA2K GAME for Original Xbox

Tell me about some of the last editions of nba2k games on the old xbox. How do they compare? List some positives and negatives from year to year. I remember one of the bad things about 2k was if you took a turn around jumpshot ud get blocked easily. Which version had that resolved? Overall which is the best game and why?

I didn't have an XBOX but a PS2. I played all of them on the PS2, except for NBA 2K and 2K1. My favorite is probably 2K3 along with 2K2. After that it's 2K7.
2K3 was kind of a good sim, and 2K2 was like a little less sim but with a great and easy post-up game. 2K4 was horrible in my opinion. 2K4 was the game with the charging calls 80% of the time when you used the Isomotion. NBA 2K5 had that blocked fadeaway jumpers - and it was fixed on 2K6. 2K5 was ok, but I didn't like the Isomotion because it wasn't responsive enough in my opinion and slowed the game down. I loved the new shot stick and isomotion, so 2K6 was good for me, and 2K7 was even better because it played better and was a bit more sim. 2K8 was a waste of time, and so is 2K9, though it's slightly better.

ESPN NBA Basketball with Iverson on the cover. It had weekly reports and highlight shows. The gameplay was sim like 2k3 and the graphivs were great for its time.

Do you really think that game (2K4) was sim and as good as 2K3? It had NO POST-UP game at all! You could dunk from the FT line at will and the Isomotion was a Joke. The graphics were great, but that's all that was good in this game in my opinion.

I'm trying to pick between nba 2k4, 2k6, and 2k7. How do you compare each of these 3... especially between the last two.

2k3 played ok for a few games, but all the games were the same, so after a few games it grew stale real quick. it also had a glitch where the ball would fly up thru the rafters

2k4,2k5 not too good for me, actually liked live better both 04, and 05

best bball game on old xbox, imo, that ive played, id 2003

admittedly did not play 2k6, 2k7 on it. if 2k7 is available , id say thats probably the best

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Inside Drive series. I think 2004 was good, according to what I heard. There was a thread about this game on the "other basketball games" forum (just look for it).

I myself never played nba 2k6 or 2 nba 2k7. I'm trying to figure out which is better.


But i read that 2K7plays has some noticeable artificial intelligence problems. Teams occasionally failing to even attempt a shot as time expires. Ball handlers are prone to dribbling out of bounds for no apparent reason three or four times a game. Players also constantly rotate into mismatches. It's not uncommon to see a center guarding a point guard or vice versa.

Does NBA 2K6 have these problems? Could this be THE separating factor between these two games?

Oh, and I forgot to mention that 2K7 had a few signaure jumpshots for few stars like VC, Kobe, Carmelo, Dirk and more...

Yeah, 2K7 was the game in which VC had a big head...LOL. It was when they fixed his face.

2K3, the player lock in that game was great. All I did was to defer to T-mac in a 82 game season and picked up the slack when he went to the bench. 2K9's player lock feels the same way.

id 04 had the fake player names you could not change -very frustrating 03 was the best, imo

but a sfar as ai, 2k < id, imo thru 04.

no id after that and wangman went to 2k and brought player tendencies with him
